This Syokami 2025 upgrade bread knife is awesome in its quality! When it arrived and my husband took it out of its box, we just looked at each other. The knife is beautifully made. When you hold it, you notice that it is slightly heavy. To too much for smaller hands, but enough to master the crustiest of breads with ease. The quality of the steel is very good. The sharpness is impressive. The design of the knife is remarkable in its simplicity. Just looking at it you just know it will work. We put it to work on a new rustic introduced by COSTCO and we got good consistent slices without effort. It’s put together to last for years and then handed down to others. This product is well worth its cost. It’s one of our all-time best top-rated purchases.Good work Syokami! Read more

If you bake sourdough bread, you need this knife! Really does cut through the crust with no problem, through fresh bread without any tearing and right through the bottom crust with ease. Very, very sharp and very sturdy. Worth every penny. Read more

One of my biggest complaints about making bread is when the top gets squashed when I cut a loaf. That said, I wasn't born with the skills to do many simple tasks such as being able to tear waxed paper, foil or plastic wrap straight. I received this knife and it's a whole new ball game. I took some fresh sourdough bread to a family get together and it did a great job. That said, my brother-in-law thought I overthought such a simple thing and proceeded to squash the loaf with a regular serrated knife. This knife is incredibly durable which might lead some people think it's too big for the job---it's not. It assembles easily right out of the box. Line up the holes and tighten down the handle with the screws. Cleaning is a breeze and the blade can be re-inserted into the handy blade guard. I feel it's an excellent value for the money because it not only is well-made, but it does an excellent job protecting the integrity of the loaf. It's a little larger than most of our other knives, but it slips into other convenient spots. Read more

This knife is amazing! Feels comfortable in the hand NO knuckle banging when slicing bread! I thought I had a great bread knife til I used this knife the sharpness slices through crusty sourdough like butter. I m right handed and is easy to use. I haven’t had to sharpen yet but that was a great selling point as the construction and sturdiness of this knife in hand means I will hope to have for generations! The handle comes uninstalled and was very easy to construct!! Can’t wait to by as gifts for Xmas for loved ones that’s how much I live this product!! Read more

This is a very well done bread knife. It's extremely sharp so cutting through crusty bread should be easy. Some things to keep in mind: The slice size markings are quite small, so just using your eyes to judge the thickness works quite well instead. The tricky part is keeping the knife perfectly parallel to the bread while cutting. Otherwise you will be getting different thickness between the top and bottom of the slice. Unfortunately, because of its small blade, it's easier to have this knife shift from a parallel position than a large wide bread knife that would be more visible during the cut. One has to keep an eye on the entire knife to make sure you're not rotating your wrist while cutting. Once you get the hang of that, you will be getting consistent slice thicknesses. Slow and careful cutting would be my suggestion. Read more

While I’m not overly crazy about the unfinished handle, the knife blade itself is outstanding, and more than fit for the purpose of cutting bread or anything similar. So if you like the style and want a great performing Bread Knife, I would certainly get this one, which of course I did! Read more

The media could not be loaded. I previously had the cheapy wooden bow bread knife and thought it was ok, but before long the blade started to dull and also the blade kind of warped. Also, with the design of those knives it makes it very difficult to cut through the bottom of the bread. Not with this knife, it is very strong, versatile, and sharp plus has a really nice look and weight in the hand. Most of all, it cuts through my homemade sourdough like butter. The video attached is a few day old loaf that is starting to get harder and it still cuts through it amazingly. It is definitely more expensive than the wooden bow knives, but this will last a very long time, is able to be sharpened and works so much better. Don't through away money on the cheap ones, get the quality one to start with and don't look back. Read more
