I recently purchased the YPMQY 4396841 water filter, and I have to say, I've been really impressed with its performance. Fitting it to my refrigerator was a breeze; it slid right in with no problems. Right away, I noticed that the water tastes fresh and clean, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I've used other brands before, but this one seems to do a better job of removing impurities. I appreciate that it comes in a pack of two, so I have a backup ready for when itβs time to replace the first one. The price was reasonable, especially considering the quality Iβm getting. Overall, Iβd definitely recommend this filter to anyone looking to improve the taste of their drinking water. Itβs been a solid purchase for my household! Read more
I got this pack of three filters for my older Whirlpool fridge, and each one fit perfectly in the slot with no wiggle or leakage. The water flow is steady and strong, not slowed down at all, so filling glasses or pitchers is quick and easy. The size matches the original filters exactly, making it simple to replace without any modifications. The taste is clean and smooth, free from chlorine or odd flavors, and the build feels durable enough for regular use. Iβm giving one less star because thereβs no NSF certification, so I canβt be completely sure about all the contaminant removal claims. Read more
I have a 20 year old Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator that takes EDR3RXD1 water filters. This filter installed easily and fit well. The water pressure is excellent, and the water quality good. The taste of the water is smooth and clean, no chlorine or other odd tastes, however we didn't test the water for mineral retention. I would say these filters are an excellent value for a package of two. Read more
These matched my OEM filters and were easy to install. I like the fact these use activated charcoal made from coconuts instead of the typical animal bones. These filters are generally very easy to install, and I've never seen any issues with leakages. I have a concern with these filters. On their product page they say they filter heavy metals, PFOAs, PFOSs, and other things like chlorine and large particles. In their little booklet (see photos) they specifically state "we improve water quality by reducing contaminants such as mercury, p-dichlorobenzene, carbofuran, alachlor, benzene, lead, cryptosporidium, giardia, and more." , My concern is that they make these claims, but they do not provide any backing or support of these claims through certifications. There are water filters that have been certified to filter out these type of bad products so you can trust that the harmful contaminates will be removed and not just trivially reduced. But this filter does not have such certifications. Therefore, it is difficult to know what they mean by "reducing contaminants" since that statement is too general and could mean almost no reduction to bring contaminated water back in to safe levels. They mentioned mercury and lead, and for those two contaminates, there is no safe level of consumption, so a slight reduction is not going to make that contaminated water any safer to consume. They state on their product page that their active carbon filter is just 0.5 microns thick, which is not much considering the average human hair is about 50 to 100 microns thick. So they are basically saying there is hardly any activated charcoal in this filter. So that leads me back to their statement of "reducing contaminants" for how long, by how much, and for how many gallons before the filters are saturated and cease to reduce any farther? How much contaminates can it trap and filter, and how long will it last? With so little activated charcoal, how effective can it be? There is no way to know. Overall these are probably good for general filtration, but I don't think they can be relied upon for filtering any hazardous contaminates that they listed in their manual because it is unknown how effective these filters actually are. I can only hope that their claims of only having 0.5 microns of activated carbon is in error, but I'm not going to take that risk. I would suggest caution and I would not recommend these filters if you are interested in filtering out any of the harmful items they listed. Read more

We have an older Whirlpool side by side fridge with the water filter in the lower front grill. A name brand replacement filter is over $50 which sounded nuts to me. These filters are currently under $20 for a pair so I gave them a shot. So far so good. It was a direct replacement and installed easily in seconds. The box says to replace them every 3 months (depending on use of course) so once I pull this one out, I'm gong to cut it in half to see what kind of filter material is in there. I'll update this review once I do. Read more

We got this set for an older Whirlpool refrigerator that is still working fine. The filter looks identical to the original Whirlpool filter, and fits fine with no leakage. The water quality is good, at least based on taste. The seller includes well written instructions in good English. That's helpful if you have forgotten how to do it after six months. There are also a set of stickers to remind you when replacement is due. I recommend this set of filters. Read more
