We have purchased and returned so many blood pressure cuffs looking for one that would fit around my husband’s beast of an arm. We were really pleased to find this one, which is definitely large enough, but much higher quality than what we typically see. The cuff is easy to use and very accurate. We have taken this a couple times to our doctor’s office to ensure that it is calibrated and it is always right on the money. I didn’t think we would use the memory feature as much as we do. Pleasantly surprised. Overall, this is a really great buy for the money and I anticipate it will last us quite a few years. Read more

It transports with me across the day, office, to truck riding in backpack most of the time. It is consistent in its readings, works without issue, and cuff size is large enough that it fits me with ease. Nice to not have to get aftermarket cuff for once. Only complaint (not enough to deduct a Star) is that sometimes as it rides around in backpack, the button to activate gets pressed even though it is in its own bag. As most people set this on table and do not move every day, not really an issue and has not caused problem with memory as it just pops up as an error rather than a reading. Overall solid and recommend if you are a larger person and have problems finding cuffs to fit. Read more

This is a great BP machine. The cuff is large, which is exactly what I needed—no pinching or fit issues at all. If you’ve got a bigger arm size, it’s definitely worth it. The machine is accurate, and the fact that it plugs in gives it enough power to inflate properly. Worth the higher price tag. Read more

This is the *only* large cuff I have found that will fit my arm. I was still skeptical because others were still too small—but this is more of a cone shape when on and fits around my upper arm. The unit is easy to use. I already had a BP app for a different unit and I just continue entering the readings on that app as a “manual” entry. So relieved to finally have a proper blood pressure cuff. The only reason it is not 5 stars is because they should have their own blue tooth linked app that will take the readings right from the unit. But otherwise— AWESOME! Read more

This is a review of the LifeSource Blood Pressure Monitor with AccuFit Extra Large Cuff . The LifeSource Blood Pressure Monitor is one of the few BP monitors on the market that comes with an Extra LARGE cuff. The accufit cuff is easy to place on the arm and easy to adjust for an accurate reading. There is a 2 inch yellow mark on the cuff that must be placed over the arrtery in order to get an accurate reading. Then with one touch of a button the LifeSource Blood Pressure Monitor starts to inflate the cuff to give you an accurate reading regarding your blood pressure. The monitor will store 60 total readings, 30 for the morning and 30 for the evening. When you turn on the machine it gives you your last reading for both your BP and Pulse. One of the problems in getting an accurate BP reading is making sure one uses the correct size BP cuff. If the BP cuff is too small -- your reading will be higher than your actual BP. Another issue is proper positioning while having your BP monitored. It is important that one sit in a chair with both feet flat on the floor and the arm the machine is monitoring must be at the same level as your heart. Rest your arm next to the machine on a hard flat surface. Do not move, clench your hand into a fist or talk while the monitor is taking a BP reading. Take your BP in a relatively quiet area where the machine will not pick up background noise resulting in an inaccurate reading. By following a few simple guidelines the LifeSource Blood Pressure Monitor with Accufit Extra Large Cuff will accurately and dependably monitor your blood pressure for years. A nice bonus is the AC adapter and a carrying case that comes standard with this monitor. This makes it easy to take your monitor on vacation or to the doctor's office on your next appointment. Be aware that most wrist BP cuffs tend not to be very accurate and are hard to place correctly for an accurate reading. When you purchase a blood pressure monitor be sure to take it with you to your doctor's office and compare readings. This will let you see how accurate your machine is compared to the doctor's manual BP monitor and also let the nurse/doctor see that you are properly fitted and using the machine correctly. If more than one person needs to be monitored in your home additional sized BP cuffs can be purchased for this machine and I have included the links for those items below. LifeSource UA-281 Blood Pressure Monitor Cuff, Large (14.2" - 17.7") LifeSource UA-280 Blood Pressure Monitor Cuff, Medium (9.4" - 14.2") Hypertension or high blood pressure is a life threatening condition that if left untreated can cause one to have a stroke. On the advice of my cardiologist, I needed to purchase a home blood pressure monitor. This model UA-789 from Life Source with the XL cuff was problematic from the beginning. I carefully followed the instructions and finally achieved a reading. I would wait more than 5 minutes between retry attempts and went so far as to remove all batteries and unplug the cord for the cuff. I figured starting from the very beginning each time would give the best chance of getting it right. Only 1 out of 5 tries would result in any reading at all. The machine would give a reading sometimes. The failed attempts were just puffing up the cuff, a countdown and then - nothing. It would freeze up and not reset, not try to do another reading even after waiting, squishing down the cuff and being in the correct sitting position. I have a tendency toward blood pressure that is too low and my current medications for another issue could drop it dangerously low. The machine would give me very high readings like I have never gotten in the hospital, in the doctor's office or the specialty clinic. The support rep's response was that the machine was fine and that it likely that I did not have the cuff on properly. I explained that I could get some readings so the cuff must have been positioned well enough at some point on my own, but the machine was not consistent. He said my doctor would have to calibrate it. I said I would rather get a refund and he told me to have a nice day and hung up. My only response was a questioning sounding "OK." I was so shocked that I just sat quiet for a moment then started writing the review. I have enough life critical issues right now that I do not plan a huge campaign around this device. Time for the trash and a different product. Read more
