This works as described. It is well made and seems to use quality parts. My only complaint is that some of the movements are hard to do because the clearances are really tight. For example, the top joint behind the iPad is really hard to get to angle straight/flat. You have to pull so hard it feels like you are going to break it. Read more
The media could not be loaded. I really wasn't expecting to write anything earth shattering about an iPad stand - right. But, the AboveTEK 2-in-1 Phone & iPad Stand just is so impressive. If you want a 'tool' that will hold your phone or your ipad securely and absolutely feel confident that it will not slip out, this is the stand for you. It is just loaded with features: • Quality - This stand far exceeds my expectation for quality. Every component, every know, absolutely everything is of the highest quality • Assembly - Not much to say here except that this is when you will get the first realization of how amazing the quality is. Very simple to assemble. • Construction - Made out of aluminum, it is super sturdy and supports my iPad without sagging or sliding. • Versatile - Easily and securely transition from portrait to landscape orientation • Stability - The flat base includes 4 small, but effective suction cups. Not necessary to use the device, but it just gives it that little extra grab. • iPad mount / clamp - OK, this is one highly engineered component. With other stands I have owned, your iPad is squeezed between a couple of spring loaded arms. With this stand, you move the two clamping sides together, tighten an aluminum knurled knob, and then use a separate adjustment screw that actually applies the clamping force. You can adjust to exactly the amount of "Hold" you need. It is amazing. • Secondary clamp - I have not used the device but this stand includes a secondary mount and Magnetic connector for use with your iPhone. These are super strong magnets so I have absolutely no doubt that it will work great. I use my apple pencil very often and with this stand, being able to rotate and adjust the position of my tablet and know that it will hold firm, this makes all the difference in usability. This is not the cheapest stand on Amazon, but from a feature, function, and overall value - I will be sticking with this company and brand. Definitely earned all 5 stars Read more

Well, I finally replaced my tablet, so the next step was to get a new stand for it. Daily, I am mulititasking at my desk, so it is helpful to have my tablet accessible and upright, as I am working on my computer. There are two ways to hold devices with this stand. I prefer using the magnet. It took no time at all to prep the stand and to place the round magnet on the back of my tablet, which has a low-texture vinyl case on it. I've had no problems with the magnet sticking to the case. In turn, the magnetic stand does a great job of holding my tablet upright and at the perfect height for easier viewing. I can change the angle of the stand forward or backward and place my tablet in the horizontal or vertical position. The stand is weighty and has little suction cups on the bottom, so I've had no unpleasantness with tipping over. I should mention that I don't think the suction cups were designed for heavy-duty suction, where you have to pull hard to release the pressure. But just as a way to give a rubbery, non-slip bottom to the stand's underside. So if I need to reposition the stand, I can easily control it with one hand, without it moving too far because of simple a nudge, and at the same time, it's not scratching my tabletop surface. This AboveTEK stand is so solid and well-assembled, that I don't foresee having any quality issues with it. I'm very happy with my selection. Read more

The media could not be loaded. What the heck is this? It feels like it was dropped down to me from the future. It’s a precision instrument for holding up a tablet or magnetically attached smartphone. It has unusual capabilities that often border on the supernatural. I’m not kidding. I tested this with a 12.9-inch iPad and a iPhone 17 Pro Max, and both of them were held up with such security that I had nary a worry. The most unusual artifice coming into play with this piece of top-secret-military-grade equipment: its ability to hold fast to my desktop as if it were glued on, but at the same time I can still rotate the base around (even while it’s practically super-glued to the desktop!) to position it just right. Take a look at the video to see what I mean about this uncanny capability. These are some seriously magic suction cups! I have never seen anything like it, and I used to work with a magician. Beyond that, I can position even my heavy 12.9-inch tablet in unusual permutations, and the thing just keeps holding on. Rest assured, my iPad was not going anywhere unless I absolutely wanted it to. This is an ideal stand for an iPhone with MagSafe capability, although it doesn't charge the phone. For that, you must plug in a charging cable. What's the catch? I wish I didn’t have to deal with those clamps, but most tablets are not as magnetically talented as smartphones. So I had to conjure up some serious personal muscle to tighten its clamps if I wanted to place my iPad in an unusual position. I noticed that it does extremely well as long as you don't tilt down the bottom part of the tablet too far. If you haven't tightened its holder enough, the device will slowly sink further down. But when I torqued it with all my might, it held fast and was not moving unless I gave it a gentle nudge. I wish it were a little easier to deal with this issue because my arm wrestling days are long over. I’m simply barely strong enough. You might be. However, if you want to attach a smartphone that’s magnetically equipped, the package includes a second attachment that doesn't depend on clamps, and plays nice with phones that can do such things. I used my iPhone 17 Pro Max’s MagSafe capability to test this, and that circular puck grabbed onto it and didn't want to let go. That’s a handy feature, too, which I use as a desktop tripod when shooting videos with my iPhone where I need to demonstrate an object while holding it in both hands. I am mesmerized by this thing. I'm using it all the time now to hold up my tablet, and it’s especially handy to have next to my main monitor, using an app that makes it so I can use the iPad as a second screen for my computer. It's able to position that second screen in just the right place to enhance my workflow. I'm grateful for this exquisitely well-designed object, and even if it weren't as useful, I would still admire it for its astonishing precision, magical capabilities, and downright good looks. All I can say is, WOW. Read more
