Nice quality, easy to read thermometer! We have had one for many years, and ordered another for my Mom. Straight-forward, easy to see and also gives the highest and lowest temp for the day. Batteries last a long time depending on what kind you use. Easy to place anywhere whether you hand it up or just sit it on a window sill. Looks great without a lot of confusing stuff! Read more
Easy setup and it works. I bought a second one to be able to monitor outdoor temperature from two locations. The second sensor is a spare in case the first one fails (I had another brand where the sensor failed after a few years). Read more
Seems accurate, easy to use, delivery was prompt. No craft beer included so only four stars Read more
I've used these (4 sending units without display) for 10 years. Despite them being for "outdoor" use, you must protect them from precipitation (rain/snow) and direct sunlight. Under an eve would work, but you would need a ladder to change batteries. I used spent powder bottles cut in half over them and one #6 sheet metal screw. They are not calibrated, needed to be adjusted a degree or two (my receiver allows this). Humidity was within 15-20%. These are the only outdoor models that work with my system (except water presence-sensing units). 2 failed on me after a few years for not protecting them well enough from rain. Change batteries once a year to avoid doing so in snow. Read more

Works great to read the greenhouse temperature from inside the house. Great price! Read more
[the model number on the front of the AcuRite instruction manuals is 00424M, while the model number on the back of the outdoor sensors is 00606TXA1. Confusing? I certainly think so! Something feels screwy about that! Why don't the manual and sensor have the same model number?!] I bought the first of my two AcuRite thermometers from Amazon in November 2024, but didn't notice until the recent cold snap (I live in the PNW) that my outdoor temperature readings were off by 4 degrees. I returned the first sensor/receiver pair last week, and received the second sensor/receiver pair a couple of days ago - it also is off by 4 degrees for the outdoor reading. I have written AcuRite asking them if I should just keep exchanging them through Amazon Prime until I get one that works correctly, which certainly couldn't be profitable for either AcuRite or Amazon! * this incorrect sensor reading occurs, as far as I can tell, around 45 degrees. When I brought both pieces insides (both times), the temperature readings were the same for both the sensor and receiver. It's between 40-45 degrees that the 4 degrees differential appears. * I am using lithium batteries in the sensor, it's 8 feet above a wooden deck, and it's under an eave. I'm using the same nail that I have for over 5 years with other AcuRite thermometers. * I have two points of calibration: a Weather Underground weather station one block from my house, and the thermometer in my 3-year-old York heat pump. Up until now, I have always been very pleased with AcuRite. I wonder if they got sold to somebody? Read more
