Requires a subscription for full functionality.
This device is described has having energy monitoring support. I could have bought some other smart socket for less money but I wanted the energy monitoring feature. After receiving it and setting it up I found out that you have to buy a subscription to "activate" energy monitoring feature. Nowhere is that disclosed in the listing. In fact the listing says "No hub or subscription needed". This is why they say you should avoid so-called "cloud" based devices and I would say Tuya in particular. Buyer beware. Read more
