Cheaper than Home Depot by $50-75 Read more
Installed on my pedalstal sink. Time consuming job due to sink. Spent more on this one because i thought it would be quality. Flimsy and cheapest feel faucet I’ve installed so far. Description says metal, i assume everything besides what’s shows on top is metal. I don’t expect it to make 1 year of light use. Read more

For the most part, I am just okay with my selection of American Standard’s (2) handle 8” lavatory faucet, which sports a widespread design, and is a part of the Belmeade collection. This is a unique design, in which the design of the faucet, handles, and the base are squared off; and therein lies my disappointment. Although the handles, and their respective bases, appear a solid cast piece, the faucet does not appear to be a solid casted piece. Rather, the faucet appears to have been fabricated and put together from two (2) pieces. Therefore, there are two (2) seams. One on the left and one on the right of the entire length of the faucet. Worse, the two (2) pieces are not perfectly fit together. So, the seams are prominent and there is no question, in my mind, that over time, this will be a collector of gunk [my toddler expectorates toothpaste everywhere]. Further in certain areas of the faucet, the seams are a tad sharp. When tested, my fingernail catches on the prominent lip on each seam. My cleaning cloths snag this. I like easy to install contemporary, cutting edge, stately designed faucets, however, this made in China faucet “does not” have flawless manufacture, fit, nor finish. I really thought the faucet was a single cast piece. This slap together hood and fender like construction is ”not” what I was expecting surrounding manufacture. The push to close and pop-up drain is novel and as far as I can tell, almost completely made of plastic. Finally, I question the brass used on the shanks for the handles, I see the threads are not perfect and looks like they are even sporting rust? The faucet has a rod rather than shank installation [which is the first I have ever seen, in recent memory]. The faucet’s model number is 7426801.295. It stands 7.375” tall (measured from base to top of the faucet’s curve). The levers, which do have shanks, stand 4.125” tall. The faucet provides an appropriate, for its location, 1.2GPM Laminar flow (i.e., constant water flow), which is perfect for the bathroom and saves us money (we have higher flowing faucets elsewhere – kitchen at 1.75GPM and garage at 2GPM to fill buckets fast). This bathroom (lavatory) faucet does represent to being WaterSense certified, which means that it met the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s criteria for water efficiency. That’s a good thing. Other [European] faucets I have also meet the standard. [WaterSense labeled products perform as well as, or better, than less efficient competitors’ similar products. Europe is a leader in many of these areas, where North America seems to be playing catch-up.] But I will tell you “Where this really shines” and why I am impressed with this feature of the faucet is that it carries the NSF/ANSI/CAN 61: Q ≤ 1 standard listing, which means that the manufacturer made this to reduce the allowable amount of lead leached during product testing by five-fold. The previous allowable amount of Q ≤ 5 is now Q ≤ 1. [Testing determines what contaminants may migrate or leach from a product into drinking water. It also confirms if they are below the maximum levels allowed to be considered safe.] That is a significant plus in my opinion, thank you. This faucet sports a metal body and ceramic disc valve cartridges. I hope my thoughts added information. Read more
