This is a strong, heavy, and elegant bath faucet. The only non-metallic parts are the washers, grommets, and the drain and drain cover. Everything else is made from sturdy and solid metal. The kit comes with everything needed for a fast ane easy installation. The only tool you'll need are a socket or wrench to tighten the nut and the hose connectors to the water shut off valves. I'd estimate it took 10 minutes to install and test/adjust for leaks. I won't count the 30 minute round trip visit to the hardware store for an extender for the drain; that's the fault of the people who installed the waste line way too low. FYI, the nut has a smooth end and the manual didn't indicate or illustrate if it faced up or down. It took another 10 minutes (which I also don't count) to find a YouTube video clearly showing that the smooth end points up. The drain required hand tightening so that the foam washer was fully compressed to completely stop any leaking. I didn't need any plumbers putty or tape. Small tip about removing the aerator in order to flush the water lines, first loosen it completely, cup the spout with your hand, and then slowly turn on the water. I couldn't grip it as it would still bein the spout even when fully unthreaded, so the water will push it out. The lever operates super smoothly and the water stream is steady. The drain top clicks into position securely without any slow draining when closed and it empties quickly when open. The ceramic disc valve should be leak free for many decades; no more washers to replace every few years. I do wish that the drain cover was also made of metal and not plastic, but that's a really minor nit pik. But as long as it matches the faucet and functions properly, it's fine. This is an excellent bath faucet that is well constructed from solid and strong materials with an elegant design that operates smoothly, extremely easy to install, and is virtually maintenance free. The media could not be loaded. I am a big DIYer and have installed many bathroom and kitchen faucets over the years. This American Standard faucet was the easiest install of them all. The only tools required are a wrench to attach the water lines and a socket to tighten the faucet hold-down nut. There are a couple of unique features of this unit that I really like that you don't see on traditional faucets. First, no plumbers putty is required around the drain ring. There is a rubber washer that seals tight where the drain tube goes through the bottom of the sink. The other feature that I really like is that the drain works like drains you see in a lot of tubs (see attached video). There is no pull rod for the drain behind the faucet. You simply push the drain cover down to keep the water in the sink and push it again to open the drain and drain the water out of the sink. The pull rod mechanisms have always been a nuisance to install and properly adjust so you don't have to worry about them with this unit. I also really like the way the drainpipe is secured (see black pieces in attached photo). There is a big plastic tightening ring that you thread on by hand. The size makes it really easy to grab to tighten and secure the drainpipe to the sink. No wrench is required. If you put a small amount of liquid dish washing soap between the tightening ring and the rubber washer that goes against the bottom of the sink it makes it even easier to secure. Add a lifetime warranty and a high-quality faucet mechanism and you have a great product. Worth every penny, highly recommend. Read more

We own rental properties, so I’ve bought a lot of faucets over the years. It took me a while to realize the merits of a good name brand faucet, but I’m there, and this is that. First of all, the design of this faucet is wonderful. It’s attractive, compact, and naturally easy to install. Just put down the cover plate if applicable, drop the attached supply lines through the center hose, fasten it down, and hook up the supply lines. The pop up is a standalone unit, eschewing the pull handle that used to be the norm, and therefore eliminating something which often went wrong. The faucet is heavily constructed, and smooth in operation. This isn’t the cheapest faucet you’re looking at, but when you spread the cost over the many years you’ll have it, the superior daily experience is well worth the difference. Read more
I ordered this faucet for a spare bath and it did not disappoint. The all-metal faucet has a sturdy and reliable feel. Even the supply lines are flexible stainless steel. The only significant plastic part is the pop-style drain assembly. However, that’s pretty universal these days and as usual, I plan to search for a matching fully metal drain kit to replace the plastic eventually. Installation is easy and simple for any skill level and a deck plate is included for differently holed sinks. Once installed, the faucet provides ample clearance for hand washing and water flow is satisfactory. It has a lifetime warranty, which I’ve found is quite helpful after a few years, especially in areas with hard or more corrosive water. So make sure to save and archive proof of purchase. Really really nice faucet, absolutely gorgeous looking and feels very solid and heavy. Definitely seems very high quality and it's apparent how much it costs. The finish is beautiful and completely unmarred, and the pop up drain is one of the only I've used that doesn't get stuck occasionally. That said, I don't know if it's common or not, but after just two months of use, the cartridge no longer closes fully and I get some occasional drips, around one every few minutes. From a name brand like this, and with it looking so expensive and high quality, I really expected better than this. For the record, I have a water softener system and very little calcium in the water. Read more
