This cd mount is the very thing I’m looking for, and I don’t need to block my vent now. The magnet is very strong. Inserts into the CD player easily. It holds my wireless 9 inch carpuride screen without difficulty. But, after a few weeks, the holder fell out of my CD player. I noticed the adhesive used on the 3 little pads was not holding them in place, and they were sliding off. NO FRET…….I just put a few dabs of krazy glue on each one. Held them firmly in place for a couple of minutes and let it set out for an hour before putting it back in. I wanted to be sure the glue was dry before reinserting the mount in my cd slot. I had no plans of krazy gluing the mount to my cd slot. Now, no more falling out. Also, I do like the wing nut used to adjust tightness. It is easily accessed. However, I found that I do occasionally give it an extra twist every few weeks just to secure tightness. But, I don’t really notice any movement…….even when going over bumps. Don’t over tighten it though, also, I inserted mines with the wing nut on the top or north end of the holder. They also send extra pads in case you have extra movement or play when you tighten it (aka your cd slot opening is a bit wider). As I stated earlier, I would suggest using some firm pressure to slide the pads off of the mount, , and putting some super glue or krazy glue on them. If you use the extra pads, I would suggest probably putting a few dabs of krazy glue on them too. They also send 3 magnets with the mount. So, I can mount my car screen, or my cell phone, or my wife can mount her cell phone to it. So, if you have an older car like me, and your CD player is bored and begging you for something to do, you are tired of your spouse complaining because your tablet or cell phone blocks the middle vent on their side, get this mount. So I felt compelled to write a review because I'm searching for a new phone mount as I got a new stereo receiver in my '01 Wrangler. The car is my everyday driver but I do take it off the beaten path once in a while. I have an iPhone XS Max with a safety case. So it's kinda big and heavy. I fit as many magnets as I could between my phone and the case and this thing sticks SO WELL. In 3 years it never fell out of the CD slot. I'd have to tighten it now and again but this little guy is sturdy! I love that I could angle and spin my phone any which way. It held my phone through many bumps and turns. Yes, obviously it will fall off if you're like, rock crawling or on a very washboard-y road - but for regular road driving (in a bumpy car mind you) this thing is a 10/10. I feel like I got spoiled with such a great holder all the others now seem terrible! I bought 2 new mounts at a box store to try and 1 literally didn't even stick to my phone. With all the same magnets in my case. I tried swapping the heads but the ball joints were different sizes. It was a vent magnet mount, I don't remember the brand. My phone just slid off. I saw some brands have a note about using a thick case - meaning their magnet is weak and won't hold your phone so don't bother. I ended up with a pop socket contraption as I don't have any flat surfaces to really use. It's the suction type but it's just kind of a hassle. Edit** Broke pretty quickly sadly even tho it was pretty amazing for the short lived time I used it. Maybe I just got lucky, but plastic part broke. Metal should be used for the entire thing. It'd last forever. First off I want to say that I was a bit skeptical of this product being able to do what I needed it to do. But I gave it a shot I'M GLAD I DID! It fit into the CD player like a glove on tiger woods hand, and locked into place with the minimal amount of effort. 1. The quality - absolutely incredible. Very hard plastic and metal. Very very sturdy material. The product felt top notch. Best phone holder I ever felt or used. 2. The use - I got this for my 10.5 inch tablet and it held without a single problem. My tablet does not bounce or move in the slightest and I can move my tablets angle around perfectly to how I want it. My biggest issue before was my previous mount was blocking my window view. This one sits where my radio is and now has become my new gps/radio. And since it's magnetic, I just remove it quick and painless to use my back up camera or take it inside. 3. The magnets - although I did not use the magnets. I currently have 2 large magnets on the back of my tablet case already however I have received these exact same magnets from a previous purchase and they hold very well. The only thing I would suggest is some glue instead of the adhesive on the back because the magnets are stronger than the adhesive and in time they will pull off of the phone/tablet. I have no doubts this mount could have a 12 or even 14in tablet if I wanted. So for anyone with just a phone this is by far the best mount I have had if you have a CD player. Every other mount I have used has had to be super glued down and with summer heat, even that doesn't always hold. You'd regret buying anything else. It can block 2 vents if ur using a larger tablet and depending on how your vents are setup in ur vehicle. But you can close those vents in winter to prevent overheating and keep them open in summer to cool it down. Read more
