I got mine today, in XL and it is the perfect size for me -- someone had commented they were cut huge, but this one is a standard XL and I'm someone who usually wears 16/18, L/XL. If you are a fan of Irish sweaters, don't pass this one up! It's fabulous. The wool is soft and warm, and the cabling detail is very pretty and marks the sweater as authentically Irish. The collar and sleeves have an appealing "rolled" style cuff, which is a subtle but very nice detail. I always get compliments when I wear it, and I love telling people that it's from Ireland. First of all the color of this sweater is absolutely gorgeous! The color is deep and vibrant but not too bright. It just looks rich. True to the picture. The weight of the yarn is thick and heavy making this an oh, so cozy, sweater. I bought a medium - my typical size - at 5 7.5 tall is 36.5, 29, 40. I have a long torso and the length is perfect classic fit for me. The sleeves hit perfect for me but might be too short for taller, longer arms. Maybe because of the rolled edge? I followed the measurement guide. The funnel neck may be awkward for some. It does kind of stick out to the sides but not a deal breaker for me. I have a long neck and my hair covers that area. I am not too sensitive to wool so this feels soft to me. Softer than my other Aran wool sweater which is 100% wool whereas this sweater is merino wool. I am hoping this sweater will last me the rest of my life. I’m 63 and looking for durability. Love the natural fibers. The sweater is very warm by itself indoors but I would layer outside in cold or windy conditions because of the open knit. I haven’t washed it yet but will try to do an update. The shipping took longer than expected but if it’s coming from Ireland I’d say it’s well worth the wait! It’s a little more than I like to spend but hoping this will be a piece of a lifetime. I purchased this on Amazon Prime Day in July and wore this for the first time yesterday! I was taking public transit on a cold, damp, wintry day to the opera. It was perfect. It fit perfectly. Huge: you drown in this thing. It's good quality and the wool is pleasantly soft, but the sweater definitely runs very large. You can see this in the armpits. I am 5'3" and 190 and wish I had *not* gotten the XL, my "usual" size. I think an L would fit much more nicely. Or maybe even an M, who knows. Read more

I love this sweater for several reasons: The sleeves are long enough and it is warm enough that you can wear it without a jacket outside. The color is beautiful, and the variety of stitches gives this a rich look. I gave this sweater 4 stars instead of 5 because the wool is a bit scratchy around the neckline, so I ended up wearing a silk scarf around my neck for protection. I ordered the size large because I have very long arms and I am tall, and this sweater is plenty long enough. It is a bit large through the middle, so if you are between sizes, you could size down with this sweater. Read more
