This is a nice basic set of knives that work great. My husband is picky and will pay hundreds of dollars for 1 knife, and he kept saying we could get a better set. Guess what Dan? I don’t need a better set. These are perfect for beginners which is what I am. I don’t cook, so I don’t need something fancy. I’m basic, and I do basic things. I don’t need something fancy knife to cut a piece of bread or steak. These will be just fine. If you are basic and like a great bang for your dollar, these are great! I love that it has scissors as well because that is something I am always looking for in the kitchen. Now I have everything in one place, and these are a nice soothing color. I’m not going to say it to my husband, but these are just as good as his fancy ones for a fraction of the cost. Read more

This is an affordable decent quality knife set that would be appropriate for a college student or a person who isn't using their knives heavily but needs something that can get the job done, or a set they can use and abuse. The aesthetic of these knives is super cute, and they have burnt orange dappled paint detailing on them. The knives are extremely light weight, not incredibly balanced, but they are durable and sharp enough to cut up meats and vegetables. The entire set comes with a full set of steak knives, pairing knife, chef knife, bread cutting knife, and more. The scissors that come with the set feel a flimsy and like they might break if you had to apply a decent amount of force on them. The included block is a decent weight but it does not have a non-slip bottom which is mildly concerning since it's still light enough to knock over if pushed. The wood is smooth and beautiful. The block features a built in knife sharpner. The placement of the sharpener isn't very practical since it's in the middle of the back edge of the block, so when sharpening you'd be pulling towards the knives in the block. Read more
This Astercook knife set is absolutely divine. The creamy white color with the subtle speckles gives such a gorgeous mid-century, almost retro-astro vibe that fits perfectly in my kitchen. It truly feels like both a functional tool and a design piece. The knives are sharp right out of the box and glide through food easily thanks to the non-stick coating. I also love that the block includes a built-in sharpener making maintenance simple and keeps everything conveniently in one place. The handles feel comfortable, and the whole set looks high-end. It instantly elevated the look of my countertop. They arrived super fast, just in time for a Valentine’s Day gift to myself, and I couldn’t be happier. This set definitely found its forever home in my retro kitchen. Read more

This Astercook 15-piece knife set is an excellent addition to my kitchen! They are dishwasher safe and come clean easily. I especially love that the block has a built-in sharpener. Such a convenient feature to keep the knives performing their best. They came razor sharp right out of the box and feel heavy duty, sturdy, and well made. They also have small labels on them to tell you what the knife is called. The set comes with a small booklet explaining proper uses of each knife. Super neat feature. The cream white block looks elegant on the counter, and the overall quality definitely feels worth the price. Highly recommend! Read more

This is a beautiful knife set. I love the light-toned wood knife block. The warm-cream colored knives are lovely and SO SHARP. Such a variety of knives and such a good value. Astercook does this sort of thing SO well, it baffles me as to why they don't put 8 steak knives in many of their knife sets... most dinnerware comes in sets of 8 - so do glasses and silverware. Why not add two steak knives??? I did not dock this review for one star because of the lack of two steak knifes because this is still an OUTSTANDING set of knives. But it makes me wonder... And if you're looking for the 15th item... they count the built-in sharpener as #15. Read more
I was very pleasantly surprised with this 15 piece kitchen knife set. Normally have good luck ordering knives online but these are good! Not only do they look good and are pretty but they actually are sharp! I love the different sizes and the knife block has a knife sharpener! They’re very good quality, and very easy to figure out which knives going on which slot. They’re extremely easy to use and the handles are made well for a good grip. I used one of the bigger ones to cut a calzone and it was great! It went right through no problem and didn’t smash the bread. The price is great for such good quality and I’m very happy with these knives! Read more

This knife set does provide all the various sizes most people need. And while the blades are sharp, I did find the knives to be too light weight and the handles have no weight at all. Slicing a roast required more of a sawing motion then a cut or two as you'd expect. And it wasn't because the roast was tough. Also the imbedded knife sharpener as you can see in the picture, requires you to unload all the other knives to use it. A couple of knives have serrated edges, so the sharpener was worthless for that. The scissors have an inner teeth edge that can be helpful for opening small items with lids, but the bottle opener hook on one arm doesn't provide much access unless you put your hand inside the joint, a risky move considering you're now holding the teeth from the lid opener to do so. If you're looking for a starter kit for those new to the kitchen, this will suffice. But for more experienced cooks and chefs looks Read more
