The mint flavor is very subtle and not overpowering like the last brand I tried (Lilu, from Amazon, had a nasty mint taste and is now listed as not available at this time). My dentist first turned me on to black charcoal bamboo floss about 5 years ago and I'll never go back to the white floss again. 1. You can see what the floss has taken off using the black floss, but it's almost impossible to see on the white floss. 2. If you see gunk on the floss then floss between the same teeth again until the floss comes out clean.
