Due to space my bed is up against one of my bedroom walls. I am elderly and have arthritis about everywhere. Getting up out of bed I need to use both arms to help push myself up to a sitting position. Then standing up from there was a chore. I had to have surgery on my elbow. I was told no tugging or heavy lifting during and for six weeks after I got out of the brace which I wore for six weeks too. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get out of bed. I live alone so I had no-one to help me. I bought this bed rail as a hail mary. It has worked wonders. It was very easy to assemble and to adjust the fit to the right height of my bed. I am able to pull myself up with my good arm. I swing my legs to the floor and push myself up again with my good arm. I am no light weight and it is sturdy enough to help me up. I continue to use this post recovery because it is so helpful. The rail has a pocket that holds my remote and glasses at night as just a handy place to put them. I did also drop the Allen wrench it came with to assemble it with into the pouch in case anything came lose with the tugging it gets daily. So far.everything is still as tight as it was the day I assembled it. The rail is between my bed and my side table. There is no problem with reaching over it to turn off my lamp at bedtime. Easy to set up. I bought two, one for each side of the bed. My wife loves it. There is a storage pouch on both sides of the support handle. My wife reads her Kindle before bedtime and slips it right into the pouch. It also includes an anchor belt but with the legs firmly on the floor the belt not needed. My wife and I are in our seventies. I purchased these after she had hip replacement surgery and after I had fallen out of bed several times while sleeping. (Ouch) Great quality. It does make it easier to get into and out of bed. The assembly was easy until you had to strap it to the bed frame. Even for a split king half it was difficult to complete the strapping. Very satisfying. Read more
