I spent a lot of time reading reviews and feedback from customers before buying. Hand mixers seem to attract lies in advertising. Power ratings seem exaggerated. Not so in this Braun mixer. I waited about 9 months to write this to give us time to use the mixer in different situations. Ergonomically correct and easy to use. Great "analog" speed control. Well designed with resting surfaces where you need them to be. Powerful, but cool-running. My wife and I love the food processor. It is a quick and easy one to use. We have a much larger food processor, but we find ourselves reaching for this one, due to its ease-of-use and its easy clean-up. A great mixer and food processor. I highly recommend it to you. I have used a previous model for eons, but the speed control broke and I could only get "High" speed, which meant everything splattered and or got over-beaten. And then there was the long term disconcerting design flaw in chopper bowl /little mini food processor. The food processor attachment worked great, and was a huge addition to the mixer's capabilities, but it was designed in such a way that when you washed the part that attached to the mixer, the part in direct contact with food, water seeped inside the unit and you could not get it out. It was stuck in there with no way to release it. It always worried me that the germs that must have built up inside were going to get into the food. Obviously it didn't worry me enough to toss the unit... but it was a design flaw, or I was just unable to open the unit to clear the water. The newer 9-speed Mix-master fixed the problem. The new chopper bowl/food processor attachment is so easy to clean. The entire attachment has been redesigned. The top portion that attaches to the mixer is completely open and washable, no places for water to creep inside, because there is no "inside." The bowl has a larger capacity and a nicer shape, with a foot and removable, washable gasket. As for the mixer itself, it's the same overall great portability and functionality, but the speed control is better. I love having a range of speeds that you can set yourself instead of the usual High-Medium-Low settings. It is reasonably well balanced, but it is a tad heavier than the previous model and so that's harder on me with my weak upper body strength and arthritic hands. It's not enough more weight that I would return the unit, but it's not as light as the other model I had, the regular Mix-Master Plus. Also, the white units are hard to locate, and this time I was only able to purchase a black mixer, but otherwise I still rate this an improved unit. Read more
I’ve gone through quite a few hand mixers over the years—my last three were KitchenAid. They were fine (which is why I kept buying them), but this time I wanted something more powerful. I run a home-based business making thick shea and cocoa butter body butters and creams, so power really matters. This mixer is powerful, yet on the lower settings it’s surprisingly gentle and doesn’t splash at all (unlike a Cuisinart I had, which was terrible in that regard). I’d heard it was well-balanced, with the motor positioned toward the front—and that’s absolutely true. I’m a small person, and while I do lift weights, I’m not particularly big or robust. Even so, this mixer feels extremely ergonomic and comfortable to use, and I imagine it would be for just about anyone. I also love the flat, wider design—when you set it down, it stays put and doesn’t tip over easily, which happened far too often with my KitchenAids. Oh - mine also came with the chopper which I haven't used, but that should come in handy!! Read more
Nicely slow starting speed. Full gamut of speeds up to turbo, so easy to program for the task at hand. Reasonably quiet. The chopper is a nice add-on (haven't used it yet, so can't speak to the quality or longevity of the blade). My only complaint is that it is an obvious refurb/return, as I found a box inside that used to contain a Samsung smart watch. I did not see anywhere on the ad that this was not going to be a brand new product. So, despite the new/used question, I will keep this, as the product itself appears to be of good quality. A bit disappointed in Amazon/Braun not being upfront about the non-new status. Read more
This is a very powerful hand mixer, which is exactly what I wanted. Making whipped cream was effortless. The mixer is a bit heavy but I can deal with it. I love that it comes with the perfect size container for chopping nuts, etc. I highly recommend this hand mixer. Read more

After a heavy research of hand mixers, I chose the latest Braun, and I'm Very happy with it. It's quiet, blends well, and easy to manage the buttons. As a handmixer, it's quite powerful, and probably why it's a tad heavier than I expected, But true to its ad, the ergonomics are great; It's weight is primarily located&supported directly over the beaters, compared to most other mixers that house the motor in the back of their casing, requiring more arm labor/strength. The slowest speed is a bit faster than preferred, but slow enough. It's easy to set down/balance on it's rear. The beaters are very easy to install, remove and wash; love that they're stainless steel. The little chopper is very handy, a convenient size for quick&small needs. Unlike a proper food processor, it doesn't offer much chopping variation(controlled outcome is pretty much very minced, or totally random sized pieces, but it chops well), and it's very easy to assemble, disassemble, use and wash; glad I paid a tiny bit more to add the chopper. Love my new mixer! Read more
