The media could not be loaded. My house isn’t what most people would consider a “smart home.” I don’t control lights, heat, or security from one centralized app. That’s why this smart plug caught my attention—it essentially turns a standard outlet into a smart outlet that you can control remotely from your phone. Setup was very straightforward. There’s a QR code on the device that links you directly to the app. After downloading it, you simply plug the unit in, flip the side switch, wait for the indicator lights, and hold the Wi-Fi pairing button on the front. The app quickly detects the device, prompts you to select your home Wi-Fi network, and once connected the blue light stays illuminated to confirm it’s online. Where this product really stands out is the app functionality. It offers far more than basic on/off control, including: • Energy usage monitoring • Scheduled on/off times • Adjustable voltage trip limits • Power limit settings • A detailed event log with timestamps for on/off actions and voltage protection events You can also enable push notifications for specific events, such as undervoltage or output protection triggers, which is a great feature if you’re powering sensitive equipment. After only a few days of use, I’ve already gained useful insight into how much energy certain devices are consuming. Being able to turn the outlet on or off remotely is something I never had before, and it’s surprisingly convenient. The app also supports adding multiple devices, allowing everything to be managed from one centralized dashboard. This makes it a great option for anyone who wants to modernize their home without committing to a full smart-home ecosystem. Overall, this is a well-designed, feature-rich smart outlet that delivers real value. Highly recommended. (See photos and video for the device and app functionality.) Read more

I recently installed this smart surge protector for my continuous water heater, and it has quickly become one of the most practical additions to my home setup. When you’re dealing with expensive, high-draw appliances, standard power strips just don't cut it. Since my water heater needs to be ready 24/7, the Automatic Induction Protection is the standout feature for me. Knowing that the device will automatically interrupt the current during voltage spikes or brownouts gives me huge peace of mind. It’s a small investment to protect a very expensive piece of equipment. I was pleasantly surprised by the energy monitoring module. It works seamlessly within the app, allowing me to see exactly how much power the heater is drawing in real-time. It’s eye-opening to see the actual consumption patterns of a continuous heater, and it’s helped me get a much better handle on my monthly utility expectations. You can tell this isn't a flimsy plastic plug. The PC+ABS housing feels durable, and the fact that it's FCC-certified with flame retardancy makes me feel much safer leaving it plugged in around the clock. Even though I don't use the scheduling feature (since I prefer to keep my hot water available at all times), the remote control via the app is great for those "just in case" moments. If I’m ever away and want to ensure the unit is off or check the status, I can do it from my phone without having to crawl into the utility closet. What's the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5? I wasn't able to configure the astronomical feature to enable "sunrise" and "sunset" settings. I don't need it, but I wasn't able to get it to work, even with location services turned on to "always" when using the app. The plug uses the “SmartLife” app for connectivity so you’re not having to use a proprietary app to use it. If you have a high-value appliance like a water heater, PC, or fridge, this is a must-have. It combines "smart" convenience with heavy-duty safety. Read more

The calibration is off and the voltage reads around 9 volts low. The unit is set for a low voltage alarm if it goes below 80. I keep getting alarms and the voltage has not dropped. I use a house monitor and a Govee smart switch which read correctly as shown in the pictures. Also note that the plug blocks the other outlet compared to Govee which leaves it open Read more

This is a wall mount smart surge and voltage protector that basically turns one outlet into a monitored, app controlled outlet. Setup is straightforward, it pairs in the common Smart Life ecosystem, and the energy monitoring plus event log are genuinely helpful for things like a fridge, TV, or PC so you can see real usage patterns and get alerts if protection trips. It’s a chunky plug that can block the second outlet on a duplex receptacle. Read more

This BSEED plug is appealing if you want one outlet to feel smarter without swapping a whole power strip. The wall-mount style sits neatly, the light indicator is useful at a glance, and energy monitoring is the real win. It’s easy to sanity-check what your TV pulls overnight or how often a mini fridge compressor cycles. Setup is fine if you already live in app-controlled smart home land, but I’d expect a bit of fiddling with WiFi pairing the first time, especially on crowded 2.4 GHz networks. Also, for refrigerators, I’d only use it if you’re confident it won’t disconnect and cut power unexpectedly. Overall a good add-on for my smart home. Read more
