We make frozen smoothies nearly every day. The blender we had "died" after just a little more than a year of use. I needed something that would fit underneath the kitchen cabinets but yet had sufficient capacity. I didn't know that Calphalon made blenders but when I saw it, I stopped looking for any other brand. I have many Calphalon products in my kitchen and I have always been a fan of the quality, function, looks and price point. (So many of these blenders are "clunky" looking or just down right ugly) Again, I have not been disappointed with this Calphalon purchase! This machine is a workhorse. It is not anywhere near as noisy as our previous blender, and it completely blends the frozen fruit, yogurt, milk and honey without me having to stop the machine and stir the ingredients because the mixture would get "hung up" in the other one. This was another great buy from Calphalon and it looks great too, right next to our Calphalon espresso machine. Read more

I bought this after my Ninja died. I really like this blender. It's easy to clean and use. Powerful motor and makes wonderful smoothies, but I prefer to use it on the frozen drink selection. I use some frozen fruit, some room temp fruit, protein powder, and almond milk. I like that it has side vents that push the air out when blending so the motor does not burn out. I would imagine you could burn it out if there was not enough liquid to move things around. Reverse option is nice. It does not walk on the counter when blending, but I would not walk away from it. It looks great on my counter. The pitcher is nice quality. BTW, it has a 10 year manufacturers warranty! I snagged it on sale when it was under $100. No way I'd pay $200. Read more

Updated on 11/18/22 (Original 5-star review below): After two full years of use, the blender cup began to crack near the handle and a hairline crack began to develop toward the bottom by the blade. The blade was also starting to rust really bad and wear down/strip where it locks to the motor. I was afraid that it would just give out one morning so I looked for a replacement blender cup. Well, you can’t buy individual replacement parts for this blender! I was a little upset by this, I feel like at this price I should be able to buy replacement/extra blender parts for my blender. I’ve dropped my review by one star for this issue. I ended up biting the bullet and buying a Vitamix, which does have some replacement parts you can purchase. I have had the most basic Vitamix for almost a year and I have to be honest it is way better quality. Which is good, since I paid twice as much for it as the Calphalon. If you have the money, I say go for the Vitamix. Even the most basic version blends better and still looks brand new after a year. Also, no blade rusting, even though I do put it through the dishwasher occasionally. Original Review: I have used this blender 4-6 times per week for a year and a half and it is still going strong! I have a smoothie for breakfast almost every day of the week and I used to get so frustrated by my old blender. I had an old school basic glass blender which was absolutely awful. This one is amazing. I just add all my ingredients, turn the dial to smoothie and let it go. I generally just blend water and soap through mine daily. Then put everything in the dishwasher at the end of the week. I have not used the smoothie cup part at all, so I can’t comment on that...I just use the main blender part then pour my smoothies into a large double wall cup, so they stay cold longer. The only time it has leaked was due to my user error I didn’t quite get the gasket seated all the way and smoothie leaked through the bottom. I thought I had killed it just one month in, BUT the base is designed to keep liquid out of the motor! There are little channels for liquid to go through, so after carefully cleaning it everything worked great still. I love this blender and would highly recommend to anyone who wants to make smoothies but doesn’t want to spend the money on a Vitamix! Read more

After having a Blendtec for all of 2 months before it ran across my counter top and died I decided to try something else. Don't get me wrong, I love the outcome of my smoothies or salsa with the blendtec but I expect a $500 blender to last longer than 2 months. But the Calphalon has truly done the job at a better price and a quieter sound. My smoothies are amazing! Easy to clean and love that I can add ingredients in without opening the lid. The blender appears to look and feel expensive which is a plus! Long story short this was a perfect buy and worth the money. I recommend the purchase. A satisfied customer Read more

The blender is great out of the box, we blend a lot of smoothie and shakes with ice or frozen fruit and fresh, causing us to go through a lot of blenders, this having specific settings for those types we use it for combined with the reverse function gave us great hope. Unfortunately it's 4 months later the blades aren't pureeing like the did and the rubber drive gears are breaking down same as kitchenaid and several others. Looks like Oster is the best we've tried in 20 years. Now at 6 months later the drive pin has separated from the motor and is unusable. Since the original posting, be no contact from seller or mfg. Over priced garbage. Read more

Love this blender. Had it for over a year now and mostly make smoothies with it. Usually blending fruit (fresh or frozen depending on season) ice cubes and milk. I am surprised that other reviews did not have luck making smoothies with this blender as I find it works like a charm. With my last blender I frequently had to manually stop/start and sometimes help our with a wooden spoon. Not here as the machine with its auto smoothie setting changes speed and direction on its own, doing the job reliably. Build quality is good. Personally I would prefer if the jar is made from glass, but the acrylic it is made from seems sturdy and keeps looking good despite multiple dishwasher runs. Read more
