I never knew needed so many knives. Watch out Michael Myers! They were very well packaged, the knives were all individually wrapped and covered with a plastic tip cover and cardboard. I didn’t get cut putting them away, but be careful because they are REALLY sharp! This is a very complete set and since it’s in its own block I may actually be able to keep track of them and keep them nice. This set of knives is impressive in every way. From when you pick up the heavy, solid feeling box to unpacking each and every gorgeous, well-made knife, there is nothing to disappoint. They are sharp, cleanly made, fit the hand and the block perfectly, and cut like a dream. The set has all the knives most cooks could use, outside of a few weird specialty blades that most home cooks do not need. They are expensive but a great value, considering this is a long-lasting, perhaps once-in-a-lifetime set. When I said, and I have got to my house and I picked up the box I thought my gosh this thing weighs a ton! I had already set an expectation for these knives to be very nice as I have one of their knives that I absolutely love! This has every knife that you need in your kitchen and an awesome block to add to it. I had a rather cheap set of knives that I was replacing and the difference between about $150 set of knives compared to these is night and day. Everyone is Very heavy built and balanced very well. I cut up a lot of meat and having multiple knives to choose from while I’m doing that is great to have. But I think my favorite knife out of everything in here is the bread knife. I’m not a big bread eater, but I love a big old hunk of sourdough here and there and the bread knife is the perfect size for what I’m needing. These knives are head and shoulders above anything else I’ve ever owned and if there is ever another knife, I need that’s not included in this set which I don’t really think I’ll have that problem. I will go with this company, hands-down from here on out. The old knife block set was wearing out, so got this set as a replacement. The first thing I noticed was that it was packed in a nice box and all of the knives and other components were well packed. With this set of knives there’s no comparison to my older, and cheaper, set of knives. As I unpacked each individual knife I could feel the added weight of each knife, and see the higher quality. Also the wood block is wood and each knife sits in their respective slots nicely. The blades are very sharp. I haven’t used each type of knife yet, but the ones I have used feel nice and work great. I have used the scissors and they feel and work great. I think I’ve used the dinner steak knives the most. The blade is not serrated (which I prefer), and it easily carves though your steak on your dinner plate with ease. I like using them so much that I use them for chicken and other easy to cut meat. Oh how much I LOVE these knives. I am big into cooking and baking and I have been through more than my fair share of knives. Of all the sets I have purchased, I think these are by far the sharpest I have ever gotten straight out of the box. They are well made, easy to clean, the the block itself looks amazing.
