Great Build Quality! Even Better Value!

Guns N BBQ YouTube ReviewsSeptember 25, 2022✓ Verified purchase

The media could not be loaded. The swivel head pans left to right as well as up and down very smoothly. I am 5' 10" add 4" for the cowboy hat and as you can see in the photo, this tripod Atilla towers over me at full extension. Adding my canon t5i with 300mm lens at that height is no problem. The Cayer Tripod appears to be extremely sturdy even with the added weight. There is a spring loaded hook to add weight to the tripod if needed. I would like to see tge hook be a bit more heavy duty however I an nit picking at this point. Positive grip from the rubber feet. Ability to switch the handle from side to side is an added touch. The carry bag us robust and comes with a shoulder strap. The strap is meh ok I reckon, it could be better however I did not purchase this cayer tripod for a shoulder strap on the carry bag. The ability to take off 1 leg to use as a monopod has been wonderful and being able to attach the swivel head is even better. The legs will extend in the folded up position as well to provide overhead shots whether they be for videoijg or macro photography. Yet another great feature. Where the legs attach to the frame of the tripod is also very robust. I can't tell if they the frame there is aluminum or a very solid plastic, either way it feels lightweight yet durable and makes me feel reassured about my gear sitting atop the cayer tripod! This has been great thus far (a couple weeks). Great Job cayer! You have knocked this 1 out of the park. Amazing quality at an even better price!!! Read more

Wow! Quite Impressive

I've used many different tripods in my lifetime from professional to real cheap ones and this one is fantastic. I'm still discovering the many different ways this can be used. It is made of aluminum, for the most part, very sturdy with a solid and firm build to it. I really like the idea that I can spread the legs out and invert the shaft so I can mount my GoPro upside down and get down to ground level POV still shots or video. This has been a real game changer for me for still shots and videos for writing product reviews. The hook at the bottom of the shaft has been great for hanging a sand weight when it is windy. It comes with two quick mounts, a short shaft for right side up very low profile photography, three alan wrenches (two for the hot shoe camera mounts) and a very nice zippered canvas carrying case. This was well worth the price for this may be the last tripod I will need to purchase. Read more

Great budget legs!!

Great budget tripod! I’m a full time professional real estate photographer, and I got this as a backup to my other tripod. To be honest, I was surprised by the build quality for the price point! It’s solidly made, has a fantastic tall height, (taller than most other tripods I might add) and for aluminum is fairly lightweight! My only concern with it is the locking clasps feel a bit flimsy and cheap, I’m not sure how long they will last with constant daily use and abuse. But you really can’t go wrong for the price point! The fluid head is nice as well, however I am not using it, I actually put the head on another tripod I have haha Read more

Great for small telescopes (Real Review) plus extra mounting plate thingumajig!

NovacekOctober 19, 2023✓ Verified purchase

I needed something sturdy enough for my short tube 80mm refractor but not crazy expensive and packs small. I was pretty surprised with how smooth the movement was. It gives you the option to put the handle on either side allowing me to point to zenith as the other direction doesn't point all the way up. Pretty steady and only takes like 2-3 secs to stabilize when touched even with high powered eye pieces (not that I can get much detain with the cheap 80mm refractor at high power). I used it for the annular eclipse and it made it easy and effortless. I was able to enjoy the event with the family without fiddling with the scope or tripod to much. Big plus when I found the extra mounting piece! I can keep one on this scope and use the other for my cameras if I want! Also, decent travel bag that protects it well. Read more

Impressed with the details

Michael WilsonApril 6, 2022✓ Verified purchase

I bought two of these for my digital media students to use. I needed something robust because teenagers break everything. This appears quite sturdy. I love the fluid head which is very smooth. The little details like the spring loaded hook at the bottom for holding a sandbag or other things is nice as it holds out of the way when not in use. The removable rubber/metal spiked feet make the unit more flexible for different terrain. I love that this uses lever locks instead of the twist style. This makes it so much faster to deploy and stow. I don't like that the long handle must be removed to be able to store the unit in the carry bag. Just a touch more fabric would have allowed me to keep the handle in place. The bag is nice, however. It had both a handle and an arm strap which can be removed if desired. I love the inclusion of the mini mounting post which allows you to practically lay the entire tripod on the ground. The legs extend out crazy far all on their own without needing the long tube. With just the short tube and the legs fully extended, the camera would be at exactly head level for me and I'm 5' 10". With the legs fully extended and the long tube on it, the sucker easily towers over even the tallest person, making it great for filming over the heads of crowd. The tripod is sturdy and doesn't appear to be too susceptible to vibrations from wind and other things. I love it so much I ended up buying a third one for myself! Read more

Fluid Motion

Just received my Cayer FP2450 Tripod. Inside Cayer's box, the tripod is packed in a Cayer bag, with instructions, 3 hex keys, 2 QR plates, pan bar, strap and what looks like a spacer. EZ to set up, I used my Nikon P1000, panning & tilting is very fluid, and you can adjust how much tension you have, whether your tilting up & down or panning left & right. My camera was very balanced on the Cayer FP2450 Tripod. Another plus, it's nice and compact... I'm happy with my purchase Read more
