Was looking for something to set on lap when in my easy chair, especially in the evenings, watching movies on my phone. Most the soft-type, lap phone holders I looked at seemed way too large and bulky. And most wouldn't hold my large phone with its heavy protective case (3.75" wide). Saw this product and decided to try and it works perfectly!!! I can lean back in my chair, with my feet up, set this in my lap, and watch movies. Or sit up, cross my leg, and just set it on my leg for a good viewing angle too. So nice not to have to hold my phone all the time. Can also turn phone vertical if scrolling online shopping, reading, etc. Clamp securely holds my large heavy phone at the angle I set it at. And the bean bag base is compact and heavy enough to provide good stability. And when I need to get up, it's easy to just quickly set it aside, with phone attached, on the arm of my chair. Would be nice if the curved portion was maybe an inch taller to have phone sit a bit higher. But I'm not complaining. This is my second beanbag and it is the best device to use for mounting a cell phone in your car. It fits anywhere on the dashboard and can be adjusted for optimal viewing. The beanbag is heavy enough so that it doesn’t shift around and it’s portable so can be used in another vehicle. Great value for the money and highly recommended. Read more

I wanted a beanbag holder because it's are stable, easily removed from its position, and also doesn't leave a tell-tale suction cup mark on the dashboard. This came with a beanbag base, a suction base, a clip arm mount and a magnetic arm mount. A good value, to be sure. When placed in the right position on the dash (try a few locations and make some quick sharp turns while driving to test this - without your phone or GPS, of course), it doesn't slide. I initially used the clip, which is wide and very tight - it's not possible for me to open it with one hand only, which is clumsy - but it held my camera monitor well. At one point, however, one of the clip's "arms" broke. I discovered that you can mix and match the arm mounts, so I placed the magnetic mount (from the suction base) on the beanbag base with ease. Voila - my problem is solved! Easy to put the monitor (or my phone) on and off; easy to remove the beanbag out of sight when I leave the car. Couldn't give this 5 stars due to the clip arm breakage, but so glad it came with the other options. Read more

This beanbag phone holder is a wonderful product. I love mine so much. It has a good amount of weight to it. My iPhone fits right into the clothespin type latch. It stays put the entire time I am driving. I have a dashmat on my dash and it works perfectly with or without a dashmat. I can put my phone in any spot I need to be able to glance at it while driving to see directions or quick glance at the map. I plug my phone in while it is in the latched weight and the other end is plugged into the van. It is continuously charging while I drive. The best thing though…the phone does not move at all while I am driving. It does not interfere with my driving. It is safe. It sits at easy eye level. It is very easy to insert into the latch and to remove it from the latched beanbag. I have nothing negative to say about this product. I purchased one for a family member who held his phone in his lap while driving. Don’t do that..secure your phone safely. It will last you for years and years and you will be safer. I was reluctant to purchase this but I needed a way to hold my phone I use as a GPS for a road trip in a car that I seldom use for that purpose. I also have other cars that don't have built in GPS where I use my phone. I absolutely did not want a permanent fixture in any of the cars. I wasn't sure how well this pad would work. I studied several different options on Amazon and settled on this one and I am glad I did. My wife and I drove from TN to FL and back using this the entire way. I worked terrific except for one time I accelerated very fast and it slid off the dash. As long as I didn't drive like I was at a dragstrip, there were no problems. I plan to purchase another one very soon for the same purpose with a dash camera I don't want to stick to the dashboard or windshield. I want to be able to easily move it from car to car. -Application was to move iPhone from a cupholder location in console to dash in effort to improve sightline for driving applications, eyes on road. -Assembly is simple -This was my 2nd purchase of this holder (using other in another vehicle for GPS) -Universal holder, but fit 'smaller' iPhone adequately. Holds it firmly, but releases easily when desired by squeezing the 'fingers' -Beanbag holds adequately to dashboard, short of panic stops or swerves which may create some movement depending on dash surface -Probably looks a little 'old fashion' as it is certainly a bit bulkier, but I don't like the 'clip style' holder that attaches directly to a vent or something on your dash face. I attempt to avoid scratches, so I'm willing to give up some on the 'geezer' scale to avoid scratching or breaking a dash face. -Getting the phone face up higher, more in direct sight line is a significant safety factor compared to having to constantly look down at console for phone directions. I like this style of holder. -I'm giving 5 stars and saying "Yes, I'd recommend purchase" to anyone that wants to raise their phone or device, while recognizing you will have a 'bean bag' on top of your dash.
