This is a great light, helped with identifying swirls during paint correction. Battery life seems short, but I was using it on max brightness. This is perfect as a carry around light, but if I want to really do a thorough inspection, a heavier gun is needed. Still, for the size and price, this guy is perfect. In every mode, it's pretty bright for a light not much bigger than a pen and really easy to use. The magnet is a thoughtful feature. Better than holding it in your mouth. :) Read more

Boy is this a life saver when you are inspecting the body condition of a used car. Not only does it show swirl marks, it also shows scratches, chips and pits which may be hidden under a thick layer of wax in an attempt to minimize their appearance. I even found one area where the less than reputable car dealer had used touch up paint to hide damage to the rear of the car and then waxed over it to minimize the damage. It also made it far easier to show the dings and damage in photos I took to show the dealer what the true condition of the vehicle they are trying to sell, making this a good aid in bargaining on the price of the car. I planned to use this to check the car to make sure I had adequately buffed any wax applied or any paint where I have removed the wax to make sure the wax was all gone before applying a ceramic coat. While I may have to use this to see if one of my pets has had an accident on the rug, where it also works great, my primary function was to check out the condition of my car. I had a smaller one and it just didn't work to show everything and I found this one found so much more than the little one that I concluded to purchase a smaller one was a waste of time and money. In general I have found Chemical Guys to make excellent car care products and this is just one more that fits that bill. Read more

As long as you do not ever drop the light wand or use its magnet to hang it because it does not hold well and could scratch your car paint job (please use the hoop and hang it onto something solid ). It should last a long time. Depending on the selected brightness you may need to recharge every 4 to 8 hours of use. Operates best in the dark. Do not look for car paint swirls during daylight hours because using this portable light makes it harder to see swirls in the sunlight. Read more
