If you’re wondering if it’s worth the price, it depends on what you’re looking for; If you want comfort, and stability, an office to be kept in one room for a very long time, this is perfect for that. The chair leans back if you like relaxing, and has a place for your feet, if you’re like me and enjoy having your legs higher while you work. It’s pretty heavy, so keep that in mind. Assembly wasn’t too difficult and I did it by myself. I own a car that loves to “make biscuits” (scratch and knead) on the chair, and fortunately the material is great so it hasn’t been torn, but of course there’s little holes. I’ve had other chairs become very ragged from my cat scratching them, so I’m glad this doesn’t ruin so easily. It’s definitely meant to be on a hard surface and kept in one room, my only complaint is the arms can become very loose pretty quickly, but the instructions advise you tighten the screws every month or so. Please be careful about this purchase. This chair is a catastrophic failure. On paper, and in its polished photos, this COLAMY chair looked like the perfect solution. The assembly was straightforward, which gave me a false sense of confidence that I had made a good choice. However, the moment I actually sat down, I realized this chair is a masterclass in deceptive appearances and a catastrophic failure of design. I now consider it to be a severe safety hazard. The design is so fundamentally unbalanced that performing the most normal action—using your feet to roll the chair forward toward a desk—can cause the entire chair to tip forward violently, threatening to throw you to the ground. This is not an exaggeration; I had a second near-fall from this exact issue. This goes beyond discomfort; it's an accident waiting to happen. Even just shifting your weight while seated can cause the chair to lurch dangerously. Beyond the danger, the chair fails at its most basic ergonomic function. Despite looking huge and plush, the seat cushion is so shallow it's absurd. I am a person of completely average size, at 5'5" and 140 lbs, yet the cushion ends high above my knees, leaving my lower legs wandering uncomfortably in no-man's-land. The constant effect is that of being perched on a child's chair that is far too small for you. The entire backrest and recline system is a disaster. The shape is so fundamentally flawed that even when sitting perfectly upright, the so-called lumbar support is non-existent; the pillow is useless and your lower back is left completely unsupported. This becomes a bizarre spectacle if you try to lean back. You can barely use the "high back" because the moment you do, a huge gap opens up and you start an immediate fight for alignment, trying to find a stable position that simply doesn't exist. If you use the recliner, this gap swallows the pillow whole, leaving your back completely unsupported in the void. To add insult to injury, simple usability is an afterthought. The recline is short and unsatisfying. The height adjustment lever is placed so poorly that it's nearly impossible to reach while seated, and the retractable footrest is just as difficult to deploy. A final look at the assembled product shows it's not even manufactured well—the entire chair is visibly unbalanced. This is not a matter of personal taste or minor dislikes. It is a product with fundamental, indefensible failures in safety, ergonomics, and quality control. It's being returned, and I strongly urge anyone considering it to look elsewhere. Read more
