Update (2): I’ve had this pan for a few more months and I love it. It’s not hard to clean, I’ve gotten used to starting off with lower heat, a soak after use usually is all I need for the pan to come clean. In rare occasions if I get something burnt on, I use the cleanser I mentioned before. The pan is sturdy and I would easily buy another one / same brand. Update (1): I was upset about the pan getting scorch marks, someone recommended ‘Bar Keepers Friend’ a powder cleanser for stainless steel. I used that with a bit of elbow grease and the pan looks new again (see second pic). If you try this method, just make sure to wear rubber gloves and don’t get the powder in your eyes or breath it in. Wash & rinse pan thoroughly. Original Post: It came well packaged, super shiny and nice. The first thing I made was scrambled eggs. This pan is not nonstick but that was to be expected since it’s just stainless steel. After a soak and wash it came clean just fine. Second meal was orange chicken, med-high heat with a bit of oil. It messed up my pan, burnt oil all over it, I now have to figure out how to get it clean. Soaking it isn’t helping. I really like this pan. I didn’t think I was using it improperly but I’m sad now. I have been using this chef’s stir fry pan for more than half year now (got it on 1/23/2020). Though having a learning curve at the beginning, I am happy I bought it. Cleaning is a breeze with Bar Keepers friend (powder). It is lightweight, even my arthritics hands have no problem with it. The size is perfect for me. I love the depth, I can cook a bit portion of food in it. It doesn’t stick as long as I control the heat right (keep learning from Internet). I can cook fish, meat, and vegetables without any issues. Food came out delicious. Moreover, it looks beautiful on my stovetop. With the workmanship, the price is very reasonable. I will never go back to non-stick pans. Teflon is not healthy for us. However, I only wish the glass lid of this chef’s stir fry pan could be lighter and the handles wouldn’t get too hot for a long period time of cooking. Overall I’ll recommend it. Read more

I am a culinary teacher and bought these for all 12 of my high school homestyle kitchens. 3 years in with abuse, they are still one of the best purchases I've made. I even bought one for myself to use at home. Unfortunately, my area does not have gas so I'm stuck using an electric range top, the same as at my school. Much of the problem I've encountered working with electric vs. gas is warping pans. It doesn't matter as much when using gas, but on electric where surface contact is essential, i've had so many issues with pans warping. Not so with this one. My students abuse these; putting them in cold water off the burner (grrrr!!!!), and burning the shit out of them (just a little bar keepers friend and they are as good as new!). These have held up to daily abuse over years on par with some of the expensive All clad I have. I highly recommend this pan. It's got a large surface area, higher sides, and a nice glass lid to monitor what's happening. For people who have said their's pit; that's just a reaction to salt or some cooking methods. Bar keepers friend will solve that, I promise! Cooks standard cookware is a solid choice and i've been very happy with all of the items I've purchased for both school and home use. If I remember, I'll come post some pics of the trauma my students put these pans through and them the aftermath of a little sprinkle of bar keepers and quick scrub from a scrub daddy. Read more

This is a gorgeous chef's pan, and it gets wonderful reviews. I really wanted to be able to keep and use it! - but even though I was aware of its 12" diameter, I hadn't anticipated just how HUGE it was, and the space it would require, including the handles (even though they are low profile). While this pan has a multitude of uses, and looks like it would be perfect for a good-sized family or large crowd, it simply didn't fit in my oven's pots and pans drawer (along with a few fry pans, a couple small sauce pans, and a medium Dutch oven), no matter how I rearranged things(the only pots and pans storage I have in a small kitchen/small residence). And as versatile as it is, it really can't replace ALL of those other pots and pans. That said - if you have extra space in your kitchen (or closet!), and need to cook for a crowd -- this is likely the pan for you! Wish they offered the same pan in about a 9-1/2 or 10" diameter size (the dimension of a scratched nonstick chef's pan I'm trying to replace). Perhaps they would consider manufacturing an 'apartment sized version' - about 2" smaller in diameter - with all the same features? Would definitely buy! Other than the space it requires, It has all the wonderful features I was looking for, looks beautiful, and appears to be well made. For those of you with more room in your kitchen - Enjoy!! I have only myself to cook for. I made a sausage soup, maybe 4 servings. I made pancakes. I made bolognese. The pan cleaned so easy! I froze the extra servings. I am tempted to donate my other pans. I highly recommend this pan , for families or otherwise. Read more

I purchased this pan a year ago, 01/11/2020 to be exact and it is holding up amazingly. The weigh is just right, not light like other inexpensive stainless steel pans and not too heavy like cast iron pans. Excellent performance- it heats evenly, cooks great and ridiculously easy to clean, compared to some other stainless steel pans I own (like T-Fal). It is versatile, I can make stew, I can stirfry and occasionaly deep fry with ease. Not too deep, but definitely not shallow. I own a set of T-Fal stainless steel pots and pans but I always prefer to use this one because it is a lot easier to clean and it performs way better. I would honestly trade a whole set of T-Fal pots and pans for just 1 Cook Standard pan. Read more
