Placed it so when I open my kitchen/garage door the light pops on. No longer standing in the dark feeling around for the garage door opener button. The magnetic sticky pad holds it tight to the cabinet wall. One small hiccup as first one delivered without the USB cable but Amazon Rep placed a free re-order and a second light with the USB delivered in 2 days. I like them, and they serve my overall purpose. I was tired of walking to the restroom, turning on the bathroom light only to have the brightness blind me. I wanted something a little more subtle that would just barely illuminate enough for me to see what I was doing. I purchased these and mounted them above the doorway in my main bathroom, only to find out later that I wanted to relocate them. The sticky backing removed a layer of paint and drywall paper from the spot I placed them, and then I learned that these could be mounted just like you would use a stud finder. I move the magnet around on the wall until it finds a screw head, and it will stay in that spot, allowing me to almost mount these anywhere on a wall. I love that. My only con is that they are set for 20 seconds only, so if they are too high or out of the way, they will cut off on you quickly if you’re not moving enough. Now that I am able to move them much closer within the restroom, they stay activated the entire time I am there. I recommend not using the metal plate unless you have too!
