If I let it run a full cycle, the food comes out steaming and feels like it was reheated in a real appliance. I usually load it up in the morning with leftovers from the fridge. Around an hour before I want to eat, I turn it on, and by the time I'm ready for lunch it's heated through. It seems to work best with foods that have some moisture, things like stews especially, since the heat spreads more evenly and everything comes out consistently warm. The battery has been fine for daily use, but it does need to be charged every day if I'm using it regularly. Not a big deal though, and it's nice not being tied to an outlet while it's running, even if I do have to keep up with charging. The size works well for a full meal. The divider is useful when I want to keep things separate, and I like that it's removable so I'm not stuck with fixed compartments. I got this lunchbox to keep at my desk at work, because I can use it to warm up leftovers at my desk. We only have one working microwave in our breakroom, so there is ALWAY waiting time. With this lunch box, though, I can pull the container with the food in it out of the fridge in the morning, put it in the rechargeable lunchbox, turn it on, set the temperature and time, and have it ready to eat by lunch time! All without having to get up and wait on the microwave. Alternatively, you could put hot food in the container at home, put it in the lunchbox, and zip it up into the insulated container, requiring minimal heating. The possibilities are endless! Use for a commute or a road trip. And at less than $20 as of the writing of this review, I think that is an excellent value.
