Having living in the downtown area in Boston, I had been having a hard time studying and working from home during the summer because my apartment is very old and doesn’t have any air conditioning system. As a tenant, I don’t have options to make adjustments in the house, like window or wall-mounted air conditioners, and the fans weren’t helpful et al. While browsing on Amazon, I came across this portable air conditioner and thought why not give it a try since I don’t need to make any adjustments in the house which could cause a problem with my landlord. It arrived in a properly packed box with everything in it ( window kit, hose, etc) and took me 15-20 minutes to set it up without using any tools( not even a screw-driver) . It works pretty good. Works great with Amazon Echo / Alexa. The cooling mode works great for a 1 bedroom apartment. Note if you have a sliding glass door, which is why I had to switch to this style, you need to buy an additional piece for the gap. Read more

Very quiet, blows super cold air. Super easy to set up through the app and link with Alexa. I haven't used the heat feature because it is July. There are some things I am REALLY unhappy with. The hose piece that connects to the unit... it slides out and the hose pops out frequently. You basically have to find a way to keep it there (you know, duct tape). Leaks - I have had more leaks with this unit than any other unit I have ever had or any unit anyone else I know has. This flooded my office the first time. I've checked everything. I'm not sure what the problem is here but it keeps happening. While set up is easy, this disconnects from the Wifi for no apparently reason roughly every 10-14 days. So if you rely on that connectivity to be able to control your unit while gone (as I do) this might prove to be very problematic for you. Once you have set it up, the app recognizes it and re-pairs immediately when you put it in pairing mode. But I have had to do it roughly every 2 weeks. UPDATE 8-14-24 All of the issues I previously mentioned are ongoing. After maybe 3 months of use, I can't tell you how many times I've had to clean up a mess. The hoses frequently disconnect because they do not fit tightly and appropriately. The exhaust piece disconnects from the window piece. The exhaust hose disconnects from the unit. I walk away and leave it running to come back and find something has disconnected itself and it has been blowing HOT exhaust air into my room. My electricity bill has jumped excessively high in comparison to before I was using the unit and also last summer. The unit continues to disconnect from the WIFI. At this point, I don't have anything good to say and I am looking for a replacement. Read more

I like everything about it our upstairs gets so hot every summer even with two a/cs in the window so we bought this and it has kept our entire house cool. We don’t even need to put our window a/cs in. It’s very quite I thought for sure it would be louder. We have not had to use the remote but this was a great purchase and super easy window install and everything and came with everything to set up Read more

Like that is kid friendly if they put there fingers in it does not close down on there little fingers. Bad thing is it’s hard to keep them away from the moving up and down with the air flow. If I keep it up they try and force it close so need to keep it on up down motion. But do enjoy the cool air Read more

I got the 14,000 btu unit to cool my entire apartment which is about 750 square feet. It works like a champ. My only complaint is that the window kit does not have any kind of screen or vent flaps so rain/birds can get into the vent. I bent the hose so that the rain can’t get all the way in to the unit but it does not help with birds. Read more
