I am in the process of ordering a replacement filter for my unit. I saw the reviews saying you can’t get the old one out to replace and that it’s somehow impossibly stuck. I thought “oh God, this is gonna suck if I have to buy a whole entire new filter…” So before ordering a replacement filter, I went to see if I could get the old filter out to replace… I did so successfully, easily. The unit comes with a “key” to hold the base in place, as well as a wrench to screw the housing off from the top. Inside, the filter itself is very securely plugged into the top of the housing. At first I was unable to dislodge the filter from the top of the housing. But here’s the trick… The base of the filter itself has two grooves that have rubber washers in them. What I did was fit a flathead screwdriver in one of the grooves and then levered the screwdriver against the housing of the filter, and the old filter popped right out. Easy peasy. I just did it a second time to take pictures for this review. I will now be ordering the replacement filter. I’ve used this filter for two years and have neglected to change the filter, mostly because it simply never stops running the water freely. The water flow is the same as the day I bought it. But it’s way past due. I’m sure I’ll get way better water quality once I change the 2 year-old filter! I’m not sure why the other reviewers were unable to change their filters out. Maybe those reviews are competitors who bought the filter and left negative reviews so others wouldn’t buy it. But none of the scary warnings proved true in my case. I love this filter because it’s a lot nicer with its stainless steel body. The water flow is excellent and far better than others like it that I have had. Others I have bought like it that are Amazon brand or otherwise where you can’t replace the filter always have terrible water flow that gets far worse and unusable way before the expected useful life of the product. I’m not sure as to water quality. I haven’t done tests. I filter water a second time for drinking by putting a jug of it through a Brita filter into a reservoir in my fridge. I like this filter because it gives a quick and easy option for filtered water out of the sink for cooking and other purposes. Read more

Very good filter. The spout clears the sink bowl and does not get water on counter, great water pressure too. Only challenge is attaching to faucet....screwing the converter on and tightening with a coin was a challenge (I ended up having my husband redo and even he had some challenges before getting tightened correctly). I am so impressed with the water pressure of this filter. It fills a jug faster than directly from the tap. The water tastes fresh and clean. The brushed stainless steel body is resistant to smudges. It has a nice weight to it and does not slide around on the sink countertop. I have not had to change the filter yet, but I will figure that out when the time comes. If I have to buy a new unit in a year because I can't remove the old filter (as others have said), I will be happy to do so. I'm pretty handy, so I don't think changing the filter will be a problem, I'm waiting for a reduced sale price to buy the filter. The knob to change the water flow from sink to filter turns very easily. There is a very brief drip from the filter nozzle after the water is turned off. Purchased the Omeiry NSF/ANSI 42 water filtration system 10 months ago. Used for a year and worked good. On July 31st, In anticipation of changing the filter for the first time, I purchased a replacement filter. This month (October), I made attempt at trying to change the filter for the first time. Upon doing so, I discovered that there is no way to open the Omeiry system. It seems to be “stuck”. I am thinking that the system has created some sort of suction making it impossible to unscrew the canister from the base. At first I thought I was doing something wrong, but after doing some research, I discovered that multiple people have had the same EXACT issue. I took another look at the directions on the website just to make certain I was not in overlooking something. Lo and behold the directions on the add for the Omeiry NSF/ANSI 42 picture a completely different filtration system in the diagramatic instructions! I attempted to reach out to the manufacturer, as I had read in a review dated just a few days ago that another customer had a similar issue with this unit and she was sent a replacement from the manufacturer Unfortunately, there is no way to contact the manufacturer. I then made attempt to reach out to Customer service and describe the issue. Unfortunately, since it has been more then 60 days, Amazon refuses to refund me for EITHER the purchase of the Omeiry System or the filter. I asked if it would be possible for them to send me a new system, perhaps the one that is actually pictured in the “how to” change the filter diagram? Again, I was refused. The reason, it has been over 60 days since the purchase. I tried to explain to the customer service representative that the situation surrounding this return is not typical. Reason Being is that when the customer purchases a water filtration system they would not actually replace that filter for eight months and there would be no way of knowing that the system, and the filter are indeed faulty until you go to change the filter. Logical? One would think. Unfortunately, this is NOT an exception to the 60 day rule. So now I am out the original $74.99 I paid for the system and the $24.69 I paid for 1 replacement filter. WoW Amazon. A billion $$$ company and you can’t do any better?? Really??? Read more
