Love the copper color! Its so pretty! My sister gave me an old vintage small crockpot that was as ugly as a mud fence! Blue and the inside didn't come out to clean it. This crock pot is solid. It does what it's supposed to do, no fancy useless crap, no idiotic design. It is just a plain crock--and it cooks grains perfectly. 5 quart is perfect for one meal for my family. I have had a 5 quart oval metal crock pot for a long time (that oval pot was a pain because the lid keeps falling in and grains get cooked to a mush.) Then I bought a stoneware crock pot with a fancy timer (this one has two heat settings and two timer settings, and it turns itself off after the timer is done.) Boy, all these years I had no idea what I was missing. I can't believe such a plain, simple crock pot cooks so well. Try cooking barley soup--barley cooked in this crock pot has texture. I have to say it's nice to have the handiness of a crock pot again. This Crock-Pot 4.5 Quarts Manual Design replaces an old oblong pot whose lid finally broke in the heat of the dishwasher. What a mess that was! Although I prefer the oblong shape, I think this one will work well too. The only slight complaint I have is that it seems to take longer to heat up and cook things. I'm adding about an extra hour to the cooking time for recipes, especially meats. Read more
