Defend-A-Bed Deluxe Quilted Waterproof Mattress Protector Queen

Great mattress pad! I spent a long time looking and reading reviews at various sites before finally deciding on this one. Our mattress pad was, sadly, byond falling apart lol. We were way passed due and really, anything would have been better, obviously haha.. but I did not want to spend a ton and really wanted something better that would outlast my old thin one. All of the positive reviews are right on! We've had this in use for a couple of months now and are extremely happy with our purchase. Strange as it was, photographing our mattress lol, I uploaded a couple photos. First off, it has somewhat of a terry cloth feel to it. It's more substantial than anything in it's price range that I have seen. Secondly, it has not once budged off of our mattress (except for when we have purposely removed it lol). We have a 14" pillow top mattress and it actually is large enough to surround it and it can go around a total of 19" if we wanted to have it surround our low profile box spring as well! The fact that our fitted sheet can be coming off but it stays perfectly in place, amazes me. Why can I not find a fitted sheet like this??? Third, it is quick drying and moisture wicking! I have had some recent health issues that have caused me to have hot flashes and night sweats. This has protected our mattress and when I get up at night, I am not coming back to soaked bedding (gross, TMI, I know but I thought it appropriate to share being it is waterproof lol)... And lastly, my favorite part of all- our temperpedic bed does not sleep nearly as hot as before! Woo-hoo!!! I had read somewhere that polyester would mask the way memory foam heats up to body temperature so I was hoping this would be the case and it is. It is not cooling per say, but definitely not hot like our bed used to be. There is a whole bunch more I could say, on it's reusable bag, how it washes up, and so on but those 5 reasons have me feeling my $30 was well spent, so I will leave it at that. I bought this for an incontinent parent and it works as advertised. It does seem to be waterproof, as I haven't noticed any of her accidents making it through to the mattress. It's nice and washable. I ended up buying a spare because I was happy with it. Read more

Unfortunately, I have an elderly pet, who can sometimes have accidents, and that is no fun in my bed! I knew I needed a waterproof mattress pad for my memory foam, and tried another terry cloth covered one that was supposed to be 'noiseless.' It was not, and I may be a bit of a 'princess and the pea' but I could feel the horrible texture under my thin soft sheets. This is perfect! At first when I opened it I thought is wasn't waterproof because it was so nice and soft, like a cottony smooth quilted cover. Like a hotel. Not only that, but it was a $1 less, and way better quality!!! I do not hear noise, and love it!! I recommend it to anyone who wants to be sure to protect their mattress with comfort. I have not tried sleeping on it, but it did wash well (washed in cold water and dried on high, then air dried it overnight, and it was fine). Cotton material on top seems smooth and of good quality, and the padding in the middle seems thick enough that it gives the bed another comfy layer and potentially allows for air flow. The plastic bottom doesn't crinkle, but you can definitely tell it is plastic. I got it hoping that the extra padding will soak up any messes. I've been using this product for nearly 3 months now and overall, I'm happy with my purchase. PROS 1. Fits my 15 inch memory foam mattress. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to find bedding that fit. This one fits AND even has a little room to spare. 2. Fantastic elastic helps it hang onto mattress. It has not popped off yet. Not even once. 3. Cool to the touch, even in humid Kentucky weather. 4. Soft and padded cloth quilted top has a nice feel to it, is noise-free, and breathable, unlike some plastic-like protectors I've used in the past. CONS None yet. IMPRESSIONS I am beyond impressed that the thing never needs adjusted and the corners have yet to pop off. I wish I could find a fitted sheet that had the same ability. One suggestion, if you wish to preserve its waterproofing / resistant qualities, then it is important to always wash/dry on low heat settings, as overtime, high heat will break down the fibers that make it water resistant. Also, you should probably note, that this cover fits exactly like a fitted-sheet fits. In other words, it only covers the top, sides, and corners of your mattress. For that reason, it is not sufficient protection against bed bugs or any bugs, really, as the bottom surface of the mattress (the part against the box springs or frame (if you don't have a box spring) is still exposed. If you need bedbug protection, then you want something that FULLY ENCASES the mattress...and then zips up. Just an FYI. I live alone, and did not want to deal with the headache of trying to get a 15 inch memory foam mattress in an encasing mattress protector as memory foam is heavy...so, for my purposes, this works perfectly. This product is made of good quality material that appears to be durable and long lasting. It is soft and comfortable. It doesn't make any noise like a cheap plastic waterproof cover might make. I haven't had it long enough to know if it would actually protect the mattress from accident or spills, but it appears to be of excellent quality, comparable to mattress protector cover purchased previously for quite a bit more $.
