This is my first experience purchasing a "reconditioned" computer from anyone, anywhere. But one of my "geek" friends told me not to worry about it and I trust him. Plus Amazon does offer a decent return policy. The laptop I ordered from PCOnline Renew via Amazon was delivered on time and came packaged very nicely in a double box for secure shipment. Even with my limited laptop experience (I prefer desk tops and use one daily at work.) I was able to get the laptop up and running in fairly short order. Also, I was able to confirm (by going into settings) that I did receive the computer that I had specifically ordered. It does include all the specs that I wanted in a laptop. After a day or so, I realized that there was an issue with the webcam or the speakers or the microphone. I contacted customer support at PCOnline and they were with me through the process of getting it resolved. They replied in a timely manner and even though it took some back and forth messages, they told me step-by-step what to do to resolve the issue. At one point, they offered to send a pre-paid shipping label, for me to return it and have their technicians fix it and then return it to me....no mention of additional money required from me. I cannot speak highly enough about this company and their excellent customer service and I would not hesitate to order from them in the future! Read more

TLDR: cheap plastic laptop breaks, warranty falsified, customer support sucks, buy another brand with a metal laptop case. As a warning to all future customers, when you first get your laptop, make sure all of the information matches. Check the small tag on the bottom that shows when it was manufactured, the service tag number and the express service code. My case and motherboard had matching numbers, but my system showed a completely different number. The reason I mention this specifically, is because the plastic case on this Dell Laptop is very thin and flimsy. Their hinges have known issues with cracking, which causes the bevel of the screen to separate from the touchscreen. This prevents the laptop from opening or closing without causing more damage. I attempted to reach out Dell to to check if my laptop was still under warranty and if I could schedule a repair. Upon the service technician starting, he discovered that the service tags didn't match and said he couldn't complete the service. Dell customer service is really hard to communicate with as they use third-party services to assist their customers. In my case, I have been finding it hard to communicate with customer support from India. At this time, I have not received any solutions and I do not think I will order from Dell again. It was all related to Microsoft's lousy software maintenance that wastes storage space. TO solve the problem I had to add memory so I decided purchase a machine with 32 MB of RAM.
