Capability on a budget

I received an Inspiron 3030 instead of the 3910 that's advertised. Not a bad thing at all. Same features, 16GB ram, i5 processor, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD, DVD, memory card slot, 8 USB slots, HDMI & Display Port, etc. What's better is that the processor is an i5-14400 and the ram is DDR-5. There is one open DIMM slot so I ordered a 16GB ram card to boost memory to 32GB. The machine is nearly silent when running. If I listen hard right next to the box I can hear the hard drive faintly. The wifi is plenty fast and reliable. I process digital photos and video quality on my IPS monitor is excellent. Rendering is fast and I expect it to be quicker yet with the extra ram. Sure, there are faster machines with better graphics out there but, for a budget machine, it exceeded my expectations. Read more

Great machine.

It replaced a 12-year-old Dell T3600, the size of a suitcase and weighing over 20 pounds. It cost $3,000 at the time. Fortunately, my college paid for it! The new is what newer technology is supposed to be: a much smaller footprint, much lighter, much faster, SSD, $800. The only thing I've never liked is the keyboard. I prefer my own, an illuminated Logitech soft touch. Read more

Fast computer, freezes though

I've used this PC for five months. It has fast start up and is overall quicker because of the SSD drive and 16 GB RAM. However, the screen and mouse freeze about every other day of use, requiring a pressing of the button to shut down and then restart. Also, it downloads apps and other files onto the C drive, which is actually the SSD drive with only 256 GB capacity. This leads to a nearly full C drive status. Using settings though I redirected all downloads to the D drive, which is the 1 TB hard drive. I also shut off the Onedrive feature as it just confuses the organization and retrieval of files, especially since I don't need to access files from multiple devices (I still transfer files between PCs with the old and proven USB flash drive). Windows 11 is working well but Microsoft "fixed" a few things that weren't broken to begin with. Oh well. This PC was a good purchase. Read more

So far, so good ... 👍

I've been using this computer daily for more then two months now and I feel okay about granting it a Five Star rating because: 1) it's performed flawlessly with NO hiccups (the 12th gen i5 cpu SCREAMS, and it stays cool to boot), 2) I can play quite a few of my favorite games (e.g. Skyim SE lightly modded, on low settings) pretty much flawlessly, and 3) overall I find it to be intelligently designed and (for a 'pre built' machine) quite well put together. This was an emergency purchase due to my 5 y/o gaming rig dying very suddenly, so I really didn't spend a lot time comparison shopping: being flat broke at the time, I grabbed my credit card and purchased the first reasonably priced desktop PC that met all of my own personal 'minimum spec' requirements, and hit the checkout button. Even though I've had to effectively retire 80% of my Steam Library, I'm glad this is the system I purchased. 😁 Read more

Great value

This is the perfect computer for the money if you're working from home. You will need to update the software for you're needs. Like Word, excel, and PowerPoint and whatever you're working on. It's the easiest computer I've ever set up and it only takes about 20 minutes. It seems to be running well and it's nice and quiet. So far so good for now. Time will tell. I've had know issues so far. Read more

Piece of junk

I purchased this for my 8 year old Christmas present. When I went to set it up on Christmas Eve. The computer wouldn’t turn on. I contact the seller and then Dell tech support. Dell Tech tried to help, but said that a Tech had to come out. On the 29 Dec the Tech came by to fix the PC however, there was a problem with the computer. The Tech contacted Dell. Then the Tech told me to contact Amazon for a refund of the computer. I was sold a defective computer by Amazon. After a week Amazon refuse my refund request. The Dell Tech also informed me that the memory chip inside the computer was not Dell issued and therefore he could the replace it. he also, noticed the power supply had a problem. this information was all relayed to Amazon. However, they didn't care. According to Dell the RAM issued computer was replaced by someone. It is not the Ram that was initially installed by Dell. Amazon and the seller sold a system that was modified. Yes I went pass the 30 days. However, it was purchased as a present. I didn’t think that I had to open the box to verify that it worked properly. The seller know that they changed out the RAM. A brand system that’s a piece of junk. Buyer’s beware of system purchase. It's a Dell

I'm kind of a Mac guy now but some things I still like Windows for . The Dell is a good computer . for the money , I would've expected a little more memory but I have most of my stuff on a Seagate drive anyway . Can't comment on gaming because I don't do it . My Last Dell Inspiron was 15 -20 years old and went through a lot of weird upgrades ( started off Windows 7 ) . The Email on that machine is VERY unfriendly . I ended up having to use Mazilla Mailbird . Same crap I went through with my first Inspiron . I tried for three days and could NOT get it to work . Read more

Good machine but buyer beware

The power cord for the tower is defective. I get sent back and forth from Amazon to Dell with no results. Other than that the tower is great, works as expected. No real instructions so know what you are doing if you order this. I use it for work at home. No VGA output so you need HDMI or DISPLAY Plug for the monitor. Amazon has adapters. I have a dual monitor. Please with the box but displeased with Dell service on defective parts. Read more
