Update: June 2024. Still a great laptop and working just as great as it was when I bought it in November 2021. I would still recommend this laptop. I've had this laptop for over two months. I'm satisfied with its performance. It's fast in every respect, fast start up and fast internet browsing. I use my laptop for doing transcription work. The audio is crisp and clear, and the keyboard is responsive and doesn't make a lot of noise. The keyboard is backlit. It has a thumbprint reader, but I don't use this feature. I received a free upgrade to the operation system from Microsoft. Overall I'm satisfied with my new laptop. Read more

The laptop looks and feels beautiful. The fingerprint scanner works smoothly and the backlit keyboard is a dream to type on. Overall the laptop has been great for the past month of usage, but I'm giving it 4 stars because of an issue with the speaker and mouse. While these two components work, they can become glitchy when you move the laptop around. However, you can get the speaker and mouse working smoothly again by pressing on the side of the laptop. Beyond those two glitches, my inspiron 15 5510 is a great buy. Read more

My old Dell lasted over 8 years before the hard drive went so when I was shopping for a new laptop, I did my research. Once again, this Dell Inspiron was ranked very high by several tech sites and other consumers rated it very favorably so I purchased it and I am really happy with my choice. It is light weight, fast, and the keyboard is very responsive. I also appreciate the fact that I have the option of initially installing Word version 10 or 11 and can upgrade later if I want. Bought this laptop for work to run xactimate and other estimating software as an independent adjuster. Runs everything fine, good battery life and I like the overall feel but it's already dead after 6 months. Let me be clear: I do not abuse this laptop. It mostly stays home to finalize estimates and I use my iPad in the rougher field environment. I turned it on as normal a week ago, and after 2 mins the screen just died. I was able to use an external monitor to backup all my files before sending to Dell for warranty repair. I tried to turn it on one last time before boxing it up just to double check, and at that point it was dead entirely. Would not power on. Very disappointing to spend $700 on this and have it fail under a year, and now my 5yo HP $350 walmart laptop that has given me literally 0 issues has to fill in for what was supposed to be my work computer. I was using a very old laptop, and this was quite a change! It turns on just by flipping the lid open. The fingerprint reader always takes me at least two tries to log in, but it’s not an issue. The screen is comfortable to the eyes, especially when working long hours. It’s ‘fast’ and battery life is satisfactory. I love it. The only "fault" I can find is that it only has two standard usb ports. Read more
