I received this Dell today and I’m very happy with it so far. I work from home and have about 7-10 tabs open at a time for my job. It’s got a quick speed and the condition is great! I wanted to get away from HP but needed an affordable option and this was it. Read more

Had to purchase a new battery. A high capacity battery for this refurbished Dell Latitude 7490 cost $70. Total cost: $310. The battery it came with is basically dead. Smh. The company that refurbished this seems to have added a laptop cover to the keyboard and lid that was peeling off. Removing this did reveal minor scratches but nothing extreme or unexpected. Note: The bios was many years out of date. You will want to flash the bios (security concern) and reinstall whichever OS you are using. This is a business class laptop, which means it was most likely used in an enterprise environment at some point. If this will be your personal laptop make sure you do a full unprovision on intel AMT (f12 at boot, password: admin). Once you do this, disable Intel AMT in the bios. For your peace of mind, the PC I received was not actively provisioned, but the option was enabled unnecessarily in the bios which is probably standard for business class laptops. If you find that your machine does not run too well with Windows, try Ubuntu or another Linux distro. This is not a gaming machine so, if you're just using it for basic stuff Linux is perfect for this machine - much less resource intensive. Make the switch, thank me later. Read more

I found this laptop on Amazon Refurbished. It's quite a bit faster than the desktop I was using. Getting used to Win11 doesn't seem too difficult and I do keep finding aspects that are quite a bit different from Win10 but not too hard to deal with. The laptop has an HDMI port so I'm able to port the video and audio over to a 26" LG monitor. Update 9/29/24: I'm just now getting shutdowns without warning. I noticed one reviewer mentions it appears to be when the battery gets to around 48% but mine has occurred several times when it was plugged in. I hate to say it but I'm probably going to return this laptop. Read more
