Nice robust laptop. The display is excellent and I like the back-lit keyboard. I think this is a "Frankenstein" machine - the service tag on the back doesn't match the service tag in the BIOS. Everything worked out of the box and it's still going with no problem. I eventually replaced the hard drive with a faster solid state drive and this laptop will suit my needs for a long time. If my wife's laptop fails, I will look for another E6500 for her. FWIW: The BIOS in this laptop has Computrace permanently enabled, which was launching "phone home" processes that slowed booting. But there is a way to permanently block Computrace and eliminate the unneeded processes :-D Read more

Advertised the product as "Used Very Good". I received and the top won't lock and close. It doesn't go straight to Windows when it starts up rather post errors "video failed" then goes to Windows. The seller had to have known about the lock or the start up issues but he left this info out of description. I would never trust this seller again. Read more

It's in pretty good condition for the price! Everything seems to work just fine. If you're looking at this item, think 'work or school laptop.' Not a bunch of frills, no camera or backlit keyboard. Some blemishes, but runs fine. Windows 10 Pro, no issues. Boots in about 70 seconds, and I was up and running pretty quickly. Read more

The laptop I got had the chips and memory listed on Amazon, but they did not send the AC adapter needed for it to run and charge the battery, so I had to order one separately for $30+$10 shipping and wait for it to arrive before I could even fire it up. The battery was so low it only ran long enough to show the animated loading bar in Windows XP then died. After I got the AC adapter it would not get past that loading screen, so I start it up with a Live DVD to verify that the laptop worked, and looked at the file system. There wasn't one. Just boot files. So I had to spend another $100 to get a copy of Windows which turned the $160 Dell Latitude e6500 laptop into a $300+ laptop. I left the company feedback describing this very thing thinking they might try to do the right thing and make up for the extra expenses they cost me, but I got no response from them in return. Be very very careful when dealing with Tekmobility and realize there is no telling what you will get despite the advertising claims in Amazon. Read more
