I find it hard to believe that I received the same crate pad as these people giving this thing one and two star reviews. This pad is perfect for crate life. It's not supposed to be the thickness of a dog bed...it's a pad. And my six months old puppy loves it. He still loves sleeping in his crate and occasionally needs a timeout, and this pad keeps him comfortable during crate time. The size is perfect for my large Retriever brand crate from Tractor Supply. It is a pretty gray and is silky soft with just enough fluff and a non-slip bottom to keep it in place. It has already survived its first washing with no problem. It has also survived some puppy chewing with zero rips. Very durable and well-made and a great value. I highly recommend. Read more

This is listed as a crate pad, not a dog bed, so to the reviewers that complain it’s thin, it’s supposed to be thin to fit inside your dog’s crate. Otherwise it would bunch up and be uncomfortable for your dog to sleep on. I’ve used these types of crate pads for years, and even my senior dogs who had arthritis found them comfortable. When you wash them, be sure to balance the load by washing a blanket, towels, or other similar weight items so your washer won’t get out of balance. That’s why some reviews are reporting it was soaking wet after washing - this happened to me, and it was because the load in the washer was unbalanced. Adding a couple of towels to the load solved the problem. If your dog tears it up, that is not the fault of the product!! There’s no crate pad that will survive a chewing dog, so don’t give it bad reviews because your dog destroyed it. Amazon should reject those reviews as they are irrelevant to the product quality. It’s not waterproof, and it’s not advertised as such, so this is not a negative. It’s the perfect size to fit inside my dog’s crate, and he loves it. He won’t sleep on a regular dog bed. He prefers these flat crate pads, even when he sleeps in his playpen during the day. I have tile floors, so it must have enough padding for him to be comfortable, even though it’s fairly thin. Very pretty, but not tall and fluffy as shown.. Came in a small package in the mail box from Amazon, shook it out and then tried to put it down in the crate. Was so flimsy, I couldn't push it back into the corner of the crate without crawling in. Then, he started chewing on it like it was one of his stuffies. This crate pad fits perfectly and actually looks comfortable for a big dog. Thick enough to provide cushioning without taking up the whole crate.
