Impressed so far
The heater arrived yesterday & I put it to use the second I unboxed it. I needed a heater with a blower for my living room. I also needed it to be location-flexible, so I chose this one since the reviews were good. It looks like the best heater of its type in my price range. I got the version with a humidifier on it in case I end up needing that, but I don't currently have it attached. I can add it later if I need to. It's about the size of one of those fabric storage cubes, if you've ever seen those, but slightly taller. I saw in the description that it had wheels, but it didn't click with me until I was setting it up. These are smooth rolling wheels that make it a breeze to roll around wherever you need it. You can make small adjustments with your foot, even. That said, if you have kids or pets, it moves easily enough that you'd want to eyeball it frequently to make sure it hasn't bumped into a dangerous position. It has a fairly long cord which adds to the placement flexibility. It's really nice looking for a heater. They aren't kidding when they say it's touch safe. I haven't felt the box heat up at all. It doesn't even get warm. Since it's a new heater, I've been feeling the cord periodically to make sure that's not getting hot either & the cord is staying nice & cool. I've mostly been using it on ECO & it's run for several hours non-stop & all is still cool. The controls on the front are intuitive & SUPER EASY with nice big buttons. The controls aren't fiddly at all. One of the things I really like about the control panel is that if you press the down arrow & the MODE button at the same time, it'll tell you the ambient air temperature of the room it's in, so you can see how you're doing as far as heating up the room. It's easy to press both at the same time because the large buttons are place in good proximity to each other. You could do it with two hands, if you needed to, but my hands are tiny & I can do it with one hand. And finally, my FAVORITE part of using this heater is that it's got a dual heating system inside. Sure, it's got the blower that works very well, but you're not only heated by the blower. It's got an infrared-type system too which helps you *feel* warmer while it's gradually heating your room. My little 100+ year old house is super drafty & cold. The heater has been on about an hour & the room has only come up a few degrees so far, but I feel warmer & more comfortable because of the infrared thing. For instance, when I got up this morning, the room temperature on the heater said 53 (verified as accurate by an actual thermometer in the room). It's been about an hour & the room temp is now 58 -- which is still pretty cold for a house, but I don't feel like it's only 58. I'm not grabbing for my blanket. I'm not directly in front of the heater either (sorta off to the side). This feeling warmer in a still cold room is very impressive. The point of heating is to feel more comfortable & this heater accomplishes this task much better than if it only had a blower. I can feel on my legs that the cold is still out there on the fringes, but it's not biting me -- if that makes sense. Would I buy this heater again? Absolutely. I feel like I got a good value & that the heater will last a long time. It's put together very well & there's no part of it that doesn't feel like it'll last. I'm very impressed. I'll update if any of this changes. Read more
