I got a different model for my office and liked it a lot, so had an idea for this one. I was going to use the old one elsewhere and put this one on the wall above my window by my desk. While setting it up I saw that the instructions say not to put it horizontally or vertically within 19.7" of a ceiling or wall (it comes with the necessary brackets), which means I can't put it in the space over my window. If I put it on the floor I'll have to strategically position it because it doesn't rotate. It seems that infrared heaters work differently than normally ones, though, so I don't know if rotating would make a difference anyway. I haven't decided if I will end up putting on the ceiling or just keep it on the base. I was wishing at first that it had a fan like my other Dr. Infrared heater does, but this one is so effective as-is that I don't know that a fan is even an issue. The "grill" that goes horizontally near the top isn't for drying out clothes or heating food - you want to keep things clear of it as it is a protector for the heater; I think to keep things from dropping onto or falling against it (?). If you put the heater on a wall or ceiling you can remove it. The base has a weight plate in it. I wouldn't mind it a little heavier, but it's pretty sturdy right now. The heater comes with a cover over the bottom, as if you are going to put it on a ceiling or wall. If you are going to use the base you need to pop the cover off so you can slide the base onto its clips, then screw the base onto the heater. There are no numbers for the timer or thermostat, just bars that increase or decrease as you press the arrows on the remote (it comes with two AAA Duracell batteries). I looked all over for the remote, thinking it hadn't been shipped, until I found it snugged securely into the end of one of the foam packing pieces that the heater was shipped with. It has a convenient handle to make it easy to move, whether you lift it up or use the two small attached wheels to tilt and roll it. I haven't used it outside, and don't currently plan to, but I like that it is capable of that option. If you do use it outside, it says to use a GFCI outlet. It's pricey, but it's a really good heater. I keep it about four feet away from me, and only use it when I get too chilly. On the high setting it gets hot enough that when I put my hand 3-4" from the coil I can only hold it there for a few seconds. Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful. Read more

Got this for my brother who lives in AK. he likes to work on his vintage Datsun year round, but winter hits and his garage is a no-go zone, just frigid, and his old portable heater just couldn't make a dent. So I got him the infrared heater to see if it could handle that space, and it’s honestly become one of his favorite tools. This thing can be set up in three different ways: you can keep it portable on its weighted base with wheels, mount it on a wall, or even hang it from the ceiling. I started with it on the wheels to roll around my workshop, and now it’s mounted on my garage wall, pointing right at my workbench. The heat is the best part. I'm no expert, but learning about how it works was pretty cool. It uses carbon infrared to warm up people and objects directly, not the air around you. This means you feel the cozy warmth almost instantly, and it doesn’t feel dry or stuffy like a fan-forced heater. You can choose from three heat settings which is plenty of flexibility. It’s also completely silent, which is a big plus. It’s built like a tank with a rugged aluminum housing, so he never worries about using it in his dusty/humid garage. You don't really get any heater smell from it, and the size is good and easy to shift around as needed. The safety features like automatic tip-over and overheat protection also allow him to use it with confidence. The included remote control with programmable timer is really handy too, apparently. Overall, it seems to be a fantastic, and durable heater that has changed how often my brother can use his garage in the colder months. Functional as advertised, great gift! Read more
Haven’t need to use it much yet but checked it over and seems to be work fine for the Room I’ll need it for when it gets cold enough. I noticed this brand has a TON of negative reviews, yea that was noticed and I was actually pretty hesitant but I also noticed that all the bad reviews are for a heater that comes with a Tripod not this Space Indoor/outdoor heater. I ran across it and figured I’d give it a try, figured it would have to be better than the one I had to use last year. I haven’t needed to use it really long enough other than to make sure it all worked after opening. At first when I got it I only noticed across the front it saying “outdoor heater” s I thought I got the wrong one but on the sides it clearly states for indoor as well. Definitely taller than I expected! Comes with. Remote and surprisingly the batteries as well 1 thing I don’t like is there’s no display anywhere on the heater showing how hot it is that would have been nice to have a Digital display showing the setting and time or at least on the remote. From what I can tell when looked it over the quality seems fine didn’t feel cheap. I’ll definitely update with more information after using it a a few nights in a row. It hasn’t been cold enough in my area yet. It’s pretty lightweight so not really hard to move around other than just being so tall but not an issue. The rack on the top makes it look weird but I really don’t care as long as it keeps whatever room I place it in warm. Read more
