I ordered the DuraComfort 14,000 BTU Portable AC earlier this summer, and it has honestly exceeded my expectations. I live in a medium-sized apartment, and cooling during hot days has always been a challenge. This unit has been a game changer—it really does the job well. Setup was straightforward. The window kit fit my sliding window without too much hassle, and the instructions were easy to follow. It took me less than 30 minutes to get it up and running. I appreciate that everything I needed came in the box, including the exhaust hose and connectors, so there was no need for extra trips to the hardware store. The cooling power is impressive. My living room and kitchen are open-concept, roughly 400 square feet combined, and this unit cools the entire space quickly and evenly. Within 15–20 minutes of turning it on, the room feels comfortable even on days where the outside temperature is pushing 90+. I’ve also used it in my bedroom, and it keeps the space cool without running all night on high. I like that this unit is a 3-in-1—cooling, fan, and dehumidifier. I’ve noticed that when the humidity is high, running it in dehumidifier mode helps keep the space comfortable. The fan-only option is nice for days that don’t need full cooling but still benefit from airflow. Another highlight is the remote control. It’s intuitive and saves me from having to get up and adjust settings every time. The display on the unit is clear, and the controls are simple to understand. Noise-wise, it’s what I’d expect from a portable AC. It’s not silent, but it’s not overly disruptive either. I usually keep it on while watching TV or working from home, and it blends into the background just fine. The unit also uses R32 refrigerant, which I learned is more environmentally friendly compared to older types. It’s a nice bonus knowing that it’s a more modern and efficient choice. Overall, the DuraComfort 14,000 BTU AC is a solid investment. It cools my space effectively, it’s easy to use, and it looks sleek enough that I don’t mind having it in the room. If you’re looking for a reliable portable AC that actually performs, I’d highly recommend this one. Read more

I've been using the DuraComfort 14,000 BTU portable AC for about a month now, and I wanted to give a really detailed rundown because finding a good portable unit can be tough. I got this for my living room, which is roughly 400 square feet, and it's been a total game-changer. Initial Impressions & Setup When it arrived, the box was heavy, but the unit itself has wheels, so moving it into place was easy. The setup was surprisingly straightforward. I had it up and running in about 15 minutes. The control panel on the unit is easy to understand, and the LED display is bright and clear. Performance: The Good Stuff This thing cools fast. I've had other portable ACs before that struggled to cool down a room this size, but this DuraComfort unit got my living room from a stuffy 85°F down to a comfortable 72°F in about 20-30 minutes. The 14,000 BTU (ASHRAE) rating is definitely doing its job. I also love the 3-in-1 functionality. The dehumidifier feature has been amazing on humid days, making the air feel much crisper and less sticky. The fan mode is powerful, and I often just use that on its own when I don't need full-on AC. My favorite feature, though, has to be the "Follow Me" remote. I keep the remote on the coffee table, and the AC senses the temperature right where I'm sitting, so it's always cooling to the perfect level for me, not just the unit itself. It's such a simple idea but makes a huge difference in comfort. What I was Worried About One thing I was honestly a little worried about was the noise. I've had some portable units that sounded like a jet engine in the past. But this one is surprisingly quiet, especially with the dual motors. It's not completely silent, you can definitely hear it running, but it's more of a gentle hum that just blends into the background. It's not loud enough to bother me while I'm watching TV or talking on the phone. Another big plus is the self-evaporating feature. I was dreading having to constantly empty a water bucket, but I haven't had to do it once. The unit re-uses the moisture, which is incredibly convenient and a feature I won't buy an AC without now. The Verdict I'm extremely happy with this purchase. It's a high-performing unit that delivers on its promises. It's great for cooling, dehumidifying, and just circulating air. The "Follow Me" remote and self-evaporating design are major wins, and the noise level is totally manageable. If you need to cool a large room up to 450 sq. ft., this is a fantastic option and well worth the investment. Read more

Good AC unit for my small garage (1 car bay). I set this up and it works pretty well to cool my small 1-car garage. It has a remote and cools well. It can also work as a dehumidifier, but that's not an option I need as I'm in a low humidity area. It's portable so you can take it places or move it to other areas of your house/work place with relative ease. Not too noisy and has good airflow. Read more

Excellent indoor option for AC if you find yourself without an in home solution. We happened to receive this product 2 days after our Main home AC died due to a bad coil - diagnosis, replacement, and final repair left us without AC for almost 10 days. While this product could never cool our entire home, it was perfect for our master bedroom and bathroom and we brought everyone in there to sleep for those days. It brought the room from 87 degrees down to 72 within 12 hours. It could not get us any cooler than that, but it ran smoothly for 10 straight days. While it is not a quiet system, it is a welcome sound for cool living. Installation was very easy - we needed to cut down the window slide so we grabbed a miter saw with a high tooth blade so it wouldn't chip the plastic - it cut clean and quick. Assembled the window slide with the included insulatory foam, locked the slide in place with the affixing screw, settled it into the window, set the window down, attached the exhaust tube to the window unit and then the AC unit and it began to work it's magic. There is no amount of money that can describe the blessing of 75 degrees down from 87-90 in the space you sleep. This AC unit doesn't cool a whole home, but it will significantly affect 400sq feet when that area is closed and doors are shut. Read more
