This product is AMAZING! If you use it correctly, your makeup will stay in place ALL DAY! First and foremost, I’ve read other reviews stating the product is sticky or tacky on the skin. It absolutely is not. Use only ONE full pump, which is a small amount, and PAT it onto your face. Wait at least 30 seconds (I wait about a minute) and it completely dries on my skin. It does not pill, dull or change your complexion in any way. Whatever you looked like before you put it on, will be exactly what you see after you put it on. Before I use ELF Power Grip, I use a moisturizer, a dark spot minimizing cream and finally a sunscreen lotion. I let those settle in after each application then I apply Power Grip by putting one pump onto my fingers and gently dab it onto my face. After 30 seconds to1 minute I apply a small amount of liquid concealer in a few spots. After 30 seconds I brush on a popular mineral powder foundation, then spray with ELF Micro Fine Setting Mist, and I’m done- that’s a total of 15 minutes of my morning routine and holds my look FOR AT LEAST 18 hours!!!! I find I use a lot less powder foundation now and my complexion looks amazing ALL DAY LONG! I live in Florida, where the heat and sweating are a major issue, but my makeup still stays where I put it and the shade doesn’t change at all. It looks as good after a long, hot day as it did when I left the house in the morning. I’ve used other products that promised to do this that were MUCH more expensive, but let me down every time. You simply can’t go wrong with this product unless you don’t follow the directions. I’m beyond impressed with so many ELF products and the quality and value blow me away. I like this product - e.l.f. Power Grip Primer + 4% Niacinamide. The product is affordable and does the job well, at least with the products I use. I use Erborian Color Correcting CC Cream and set it with Skinfood Peach setting powder, along with the Tirtir setting spray. Combined, my makeup does not settle into my lines and looks pretty good! It lasts all day and does not smear, and my skin feels very smooth. First impression of the primer was that it is very sticky. Within a few minutes, it did not dry. But that's okay; it only means that this primer is not meant to be worn alone, e.g., without foundation or CC cream. On the plus side, despite the stickiness, it seems to be hydrating, as it helps my makeup settle without lines. This primer might last a few weeks if you use it consistently. The value is decent but I use one pump for each part of my face - left, right, forehead, nose + chin. The spreadability is not great because of the thicker gel consistency, which leads me to using more of this primer than I might use of my other primers. This is not a deal breaker to me, but if you're leaning against purchasing this due to the price, there may be better products out there that you can get more use out of and are more affordable with similar benefits. Finally ran out of my other ELF primer and purchased this one after a friend recommended it. This stuff works well! I dont wear a ton of makeup, but when I wear any it feels like its under my eyes or just doesn't stay long. After using this a couple times it really hold everything in place. It is a little sticky at first, but if you wait about a minute after applying, your makeup should go on very well. No overpowering smell. I have noticed that I end up washing my wash twice, after using makeup remover, cause this stuff works that well. Read more

It has a very tacky texture and dries extremely fast, so you have to apply a small amount at a time and work quickly. If you use too much or try to spread it too slowly, it can become patchy. When applied correctly, it does help makeup adhere better and gives a smoother base, but it is not effortless or forgiving. On busy mornings or rushed days, it can feel a bit high-maintenance.
