I've had a yoga mat that lasted roughly 2 decades. While it only got regular use within the last 7 to 10 years, I will say that I found this to be quite impressive. Generally covered by a yoga towel, and regularly wiped down with clorox wipes and the like. I did not purchase it myself, it was given to me by a former boss of mine. I have no idea what brand it was, nor the cost, but it was made of a thick purple foam. It probably would have continued to provide many years of use to come, however, I recently ran over it with the vacuum and it left a rather sightly indent in the material. I decided it was time for a fresh start. This was 19.99 at the time of order, which is higher than many options available on amazon, unless you're shopping the 100 dollar plus yoga mats. I would love to know how they can justify that one, unless it's indestructible and will last for at least as long as your lifetime. The price has of this mat has since increased by 3 dollars, and I'm not sure this makes sense to me, but I suppose that only time will tell. Upon arrival I could see that it was a beautiful shade of aqua blue, with a gray underside. It comes with its own detachable shoulder strap which holds the roll in place during storage, and makes it really easy to carry, if you take yours on-the-go. We do our yoga from home, on a hardwood surface. This mat isn't as thick as the one it replaced but is still comfortable, and the grip keeps it in place during use. No overly funky smells out of the box, but there is a light fragrance. I like that this is eco friendly. Feels soft to the touch. So far, so good. Read more

I'm a yoga teacher and I got this to be one of my loaner mats. It's now the main one because it's impressive looking and comfortable under your feet/knees. I'm old school, so I usually expect a good mat to be heavy, but this one is probably less than half the weight of my usual mats. It's squishier than my cork or Lulu mats. That's a mixed bag: comfier, but less stability. So, if you have wobbly knees you may want a firmer mat, if not then you'll enjoy the extra cushion. As yoga use goes, it's a good standard use mat. You'll need a full mat towel if you're doing hot yoga, but you'd need that for any mat. It rolls and stores easily thanks to the strap. Adequate value considering the usefulness and cost. I've been practicing yoga for a while, and my old mat—bless its heart—was definitely ready for retirement. I'm really glad I found the Energi Core Eco-Friendly Rubber Yoga Mat as a replacement! The first thing I noticed is that it’s made from natural rubber, which is a huge plus for me. Just knowing it's eco-friendly makes me feel great about using it. That alone deserves five stars in my book! When I compared it to my old mat, the length is the same, but it is about half an inch less wide, which is totally fine—I barely noticed the difference during my practice. The most significant (and best!) change for me is the thickness. My old mat was really thick and cushiony, which felt nice for floor poses, but it made standing balancing poses nearly impossible without falling over. I always had to step directly onto the hard floor. This new Energi Core mat is less thick and less cushiony, and I absolutely love it for stability. I can easily do my tree pose and other balances right on the mat now without feeling wobbly. It offers that perfect level of grounding. The non-slip quality is what I'd expect—it’s solid, but like most mats, my hands and feet still shift just a tiny bit during intense sequences, but it's very controllable. Finally, it came rolled up with a little warranty card, which is a nice touch and gives you a good piece of mind about the investment.
