Great buy for the money, highly recommend!
So I bought this pull up bar July 2020 to install in my garage (into the wood studs). I read mixed reports about whether this was recommended (as opposed to needing a cement or brick wall), but I opted not to add any 2x4s for added support, just directly into the studs. The bolts provided seemed sufficient, and I am 5'11 190lbs. It took us about 4 hours to securely install, but the bar does not seem to budge at all. I'm not worried about ripping it out, but to be on the safe side I don't do anything crazy on it. Just traditional pull ups, chins ups, maybe some toes to bar or hanging upside down. I loved that it is adjustable, as many other brands online do not have an option for adjusting the width across. And I needed to be exact for the wood studs. This was the least expensive, just a little over $100 at the time of writing this review. Many others were closer to $200-300. The hardware itself seemed very well built, and served its purpose perfectly. It included long screws and plastic pieces which the screws go into (anchors), and washers. There are also screws to secure the bar in place so it does not rotate, and the diameter of the bar feels perfectly sized for me. There is a bit of a grip on the bar which I liked, although after doing about a week of daily pullups I can definitely feel my hands a little tender. Overall no complaints, it met all my expectations, and I am very satisfied after about a week of use. Just make sure you have someone very handy for the installation. Once you get it done I highly recommend a set of gymnastics rings for other exercises like ring dips or face pulls. Hope this helps! Read more
