Amazon invited me to review this as part of the Vine program. I've used RO water filtration for more than 20 years in two countries with multiple installations. This one has some upgrade features--all of which are detailed in the description. The quality looks great, but the replacement filters will be more expensive because they are not the traditional standard size and shape. Here are the improved features I particularly like. 1) The flow is faster. I received the RO800G and it claims a flow rate over 1 oz per second, 8x as fast as a traditional RO faucet. 2) There is no pressure tank. This reduces the footprint significantly, simplifies installation, and means faster filter changes as well. 3) It has a digital display on the faucet to indicate remaining filter life and current total dissolved solids. This isn't particularly critical, but it's cute. I could live without it. 4) It extends the filter life by having backwash cycles built in to keep the filters unclogged. 5) Normally the waste to pure water ratio is 4:1, but this one advertises 1:3. While not significant, it's nice to waste less water. That's a lot less! No wonder it needs a backwash cycle, which is both automatic but can also be initiated manually. The rest of the feature list is unremarkable from my point of view, but not in a bad way. The 9 levels of filtration are essentially the standard five with some less meaningful frills thrown in--non-woven fabric protection layer? twice? really?! An extra carbon membrane after the R/O filter? What for? The water should already be clean. Since my daughter grew up with R/O filtered water, she's a bit of a water snob, and prefers it even to our rather wonderful water pumped in from the Continental Divide. She should be quite pleased. I installed this RO800G tankless RO system about a month ago to replace an old tank-style one that was slow and wasting tons of water. The 800 GPD flow is impressive—fills a glass in seconds with no waiting, perfect for our family of four who drinks a lot. The 9-stage filtration with the alkaline remineralization step gives the water a nice crisp, slightly higher pH taste (not flat like plain RO), and it really knocks down TDS from our hard municipal water. Switching from a bulky tank system to this compact unit freed up a serious amount of cabinet space. The water flow is immediate and surprisingly forceful for a filter which is a relief compared to the slow trickle I endured with my previous brand. I really enjoy the digital readout on the faucet because it shows me the filter life and current purity level in real time while I fill my glass. It makes the whole setup feel modern and proves the system is actually working. The biggest financial win is that the replacement cartridges are significantly cheaper than what I paid for my last setup. You do need an outlet under the sink to power the pump which creates a low hum when running but it is not annoying. The efficiency is noticeable too as I see far less waste water going down the drain. This is very nice. I had another one that I upgraded this to this one really flows much quicker. You get a lot of water. You don't have to wait, and the water is very nice. After you run it for a minute, clear everything out. Everything is very nice. It's a very nice setup. Looks great easy to install. I actually haven't checked out how much the filters are should have done that first as I'm saying this, I'm just not thinking about it. That's where they get you. I don't know how expensive they are. I would advised look them up first, but as far as the unit quality. Everything about it is very nice. It does give you some really great water for sure.
