Used this to switch on and off my outdoor landscape lights. The lights are run off a 12VAC transformer in a stainless steel box. Instead of a timer, I used this item to control turning on the lights based on when sunsets and off at fixed time of night. Plug requires a whole other app to operate. Doesnโt just hook up with Amazon Alexa app. Tried setting up two times as soon as I received the plug, failed both times. Spend the extra money on a higher end plug. Read more

If you don't need to coordinate a huge home IoT setup and need a few smart plugs to control a few appliances, this is better than a hub based approach as its simple and direct Pros installation flawless as described in manual and software app worked on first try, am using it stand alone without Alexa or Google Home App is bug free and works exactly as described and easy to use If your need gets complex you can switch to coordinating with Google or Alexa there is a small pilot light that lights to signal its in operation and its not too bright Cons In operation it uses 1W. When off its 0.5W. This means having it plugged 24h and on consumes at most 8760watts per year, or 8.8kW. It is noticeably warm in operation. Read more

This easily connected with my Alexa app. Being disabled, voice activated devices are extremely helpful for me. I'm using it on a low wattage electronic device. With the 15 amp rating, it should be able to handle a 1500 watt ceramic heater easily. I'm going to order another one just for that. I have since bought a few more. Occasionally my smart tv need to be rebooted by disconnecting the power. The outlet is difficult to get to this changed that to a couple of simple voice commands. Read more
