I used to use my phone as an alarm but for some reason my alarm wouldn't go off. Everyone was raving about the name brand version of this BUT what they dont tell you is that you need a subscription to their website to even use 1/2 of the functions. This dupe is 1000% better and I'll always rave about it. as soon as you pug it in it automatically sets up the time and date for you. It works so well. No wifi connection needed either! I wake up to the birds sound and I feel like a Disney princess. It's so cutie & goes well with my decor. I love to turn on the red light closer to bed time to wind down and it really helps to set the mood. *Definitely keep the instruction manual close by when you first get it, there is a bit of a learning curve* you can also go on Emersons website and register your clock to activate a lifetime warranty. the one downside I have about this clock is that the LED clock numbers dont dim as dark as I would prefer but besides that, I couldn't recommend more!!!! time shows up clearly irl, I dont know why it looks like that in pictures Read more
It looks great and seems sturdy, although with a few drawbacks. 1st and the reason I’ll return is that even on the lowest brightness setting, the light of the clock is TOO BRIGHT, it lights up my whole room at night! 2nd, I wish it had more configurations options. It has 2 different alarms with preset days, it’s either 7 days/wk, mon-fri or sat & sun, which you can work around with but still… Cool features, you plug in and the time sets up automatically, it has a back up battery and can also be used as a bluetooth speaker. If I had the option to dim the clock light much more, I would keep it. Read more
I bought this clock because my wife already has a Hatch Restore 2, and I wanted something with a similar look for my nightstand without spending another $170. If you are expecting this to compete with a Hatch that costs nearly six times more, you will be disappointed. The built in sleep and wake sounds are terrible, like they were recorded on a 90s cell phone. The sunrise effect is also off. It leans more lime green and yellow than a natural warm glow. The lights are bright, but nowhere near the brightness levels the Hatch offers. That said, it is still a solid product. The build quality feels just as good as the Hatch, and the built in Bluetooth speaker is surprisingly decent. I even streamed official Hatch sounds through it, and it sounded better than on the actual Hatch. It’s a shame they didn’t use higher quality recordings built in on the device. My advice is to skip the built-in sounds and stream relaxing audio from YouTube or Spotify instead. The night light feature works well, and you can dim the LEDs for a softer glow, all sorts of different colors. You can also dim the clock display, although it may still be too bright for light-sensitive sleepers. Setup is simple, and while an app would make things more convenient, it would also raise the price. I tried two other clocks around this price point and returned them. This one is far better than the typical Timex or LaCrosse options you will find at a big box store. Overall, it is not going to blow you away, but for the price, it is a well made and reliable option. Read more
Has a lot of features for the price, but this alarm misses the whole point. If you are looking for an alarm to wake you gently by simulating sunrise look elsewhere. The sunrise timer is 2 minutes from no light to full brightness when the alarm goes off and this is not adjustable. The sunrise light also doesn’t change colors to simulate the more reddish light of early morning, it’s just banana yellow from start to full brightness. There are plenty of other dupes that have the aforementioned features for the same price point. Disappointed that the focus of this alarm was the fluff and not the reason you get a sunrise alarm. This alarm is extremely simple to set up. You can set two different alarms, and it has features that I never use- Bluetooth hook up, changing a long color, dimming light, etc. I really wish it had the capability of dimming the time display or having it time out or something because sleeping with bright white lights near my face is not ideal.
