I upgraded from the previous model which lasted 10 years before wheel started getting flaky from daily spinning (I use computer all day). About same behavior and performance, hand rest ledge is nice addition. I do not use Evoluent drivers. Only complaint is that pinky ring finger button does same as old middle finger button, and new middle finger button is dedicated to that, so out of the box it took some adjustment. I know, the custom mouse drivers allow remapping, but I don’t have great luck with non-OS mouse drivers, and they don’t help me moving to another computer for a few minutes anyway. I like portability. Don’t like some of the cheaper almost-vertical mice. My wrist problems completely went away after moving to Evoluent vertical mice. Take the time to adjust to nearly full vertical, and give your hand bones a break! Read more
This is an updated review. Having had carpal tunnel surgery, I was starting to feel pain in my right wrist again. I decided to give this mouse another try and it's been fantastic. I guess the elbow pain was from compensating for the wrist, and as I switched this time before the wrist and elbow started hurting, it's kept my pain from getting worse. Original review below was titled "I went back to my old mouse due to pain" and was two stars. The bit where your thumb goes is at entirely the wrong angle; it needs to be about an inch or two lower. If your problem is only "normal" wrist pain and not wrist pain caused by moving your thumb, then this is probably a very good mouse; I have a bit of both, but the "normal" wrist pain with a normal mouse is nowhere near as bad as the pain induced by holding my thumb at the angle required by this mouse. This is a nice upgrade to their prior version. Vertical mice take a little getting used to because you have to adapt a repetitive motion to a different position but well worth it in my opinion for long desk hours. Read more
The mouse (also the large version) is too small for somebody with big hands. Otherwise it is ok. Read more
