Fantastic Game

Great game. Enjoying the gameplay and old school turn base. Love the fact you can pick music from different FF games as battle themes. The nostalgic feel is something missing for us who grew up on epic made RPG's. Read more

A game hand crafted by the minds behind JRPGs in general.

A game like this is going to have detractors because there are people in this world that can only find value in things if they can quantify it directly and correlate it within their own terms. This isn't just a game, it's a meticulously crafted world, literally physically made by hand and captured in computer. All the environments are dioramas. This is an art installation with a fantastic JRPG game attached. Are you going to try to compare this to something like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest in this time? Put this where it belongs, outside of the asinine arguments about gameplay design. This is a fully featured video game with a story, full mechanics, and fully realized. Read more

Very fun game for a traditional turn-based RPG lover.

This game is truly just a lot of fun. For those looking for a traditional RPG. This is your stop. The game has solid graphics for a mobile port, is turn based, and the main character has a Nier Automata look to him. Getting to visit all the cool Dioramas was pretty awesome. Even if you just end up buying digital while on sale, this game is truly worth it for someone who just wants that classic RPG feel, without the classic graphics. Read more

Strikes all the Final Fantasy VII nostalgic feels

A friend at the game store we frequent recommended this one to me based on my love of Final Fantasy VII, then contacted me again when Amazon put the game on sale, and for both reasons I picked this one up. He was right -- it's a gorgeous game and hits all the right nostalgia feels. It's as if FF7 was made today, the same style, except using dioramas instead of pre-rendered backdrops, and the battles are actually much more fluid. The Dimengeon is a nice touch because you can save up random encounters and do them all at once. Highly recommended! Read more

A fantastic nod to the old guard of RPG's

I don't normally write reviews, but this hidden gem on the PS5 couldn't be more deserving of one! When I was a kid, I played a lot of JRPG's on the DS, PS2, and PSP with a very similar look and feel to Fantasian neo dimension! Almost 130 hours in, and I'm still loving every second of it! The game's mechanics and appearance take me back to the carefree days of my childhood, while the writing and premise of the story offers a unique twist for the new generation, but never fails to stay faithful to what kept me coming back for more in the old days! Whether you've been playing RPG's for decades, or thinking about playing them for the first time, Fantasian Neo Dimension is an incredibly enjoyable experience that's easy to pick up and play, but difficult to master! Most underrated game of 2024! Read more
