Only played a tad bit of the 16bit 😹 but never got into it buuuuuut saw the trailer which looked great & it was made by the same team of Trials of Mana which I loved 🥰 and tried the demo. The demo got me hooked and so far I’m like 25 hours in and its so good. Love the fun & engaging battle system, various characters that join, story is very cool & unique on how it’s told. I also love the look , the art syle of everything. Music is top notch , anyways highly recommend 👍 **update** So I’m about 60% or so in and what I enjoy the most are the discovery of new characters to recruit which are a lot. The story progresses through many paths you can choose. Everyone will have a different order to complete things & recruit. The story of the 7 Heroes is crazy and enjoy the way you improve your kingdom. The way you learn new techs are so satisfying & combining the right team is fun. *update** Completed the game and it was well worth it! and it even has new game + mini dlc in a way where this new boss reveals itself and makes sense story wise. Since now I love how Romancing Saga games play, I will now focus on getting Saga Emerald Beyond 👍 Read more

I played the original on IOS years ago it broke me. Tried again on switch disaster. I tried the demo and it didn’t impress me. Fast forward to now on sale and it is the same game but with a real narrative that is complemented with assets from every square enix game that used unreal engine from last remnant to Dragon quest so it’s just been fun trying to figure out which game is this asset from. But the upgrades and quality of life improvements are where the magic happens. I know how to glimmer a specific skill by using the new stat update system to track how get the character of choice to eventually get the skill. It was a guessing game before. Updated it to switch 2 edition and perfect. The original game already had a good narrative but lacked some nuance here it is still pretty much the same better written with the missing nuance to create a better game that depth. I wrote it off after the last new saga game was a confusing mess. Remake or not it started just the same with a nice new opening. The game plays like the original except with more of a ps1 final fantasy camera system. Then 10 hours in I realized all the upgrades and formation systems. This remake is remarkable I understand the story who’s who why they are doing what they are doing it is an actual squaresoft feeling game not a square enix experiment. Normally the good one to one remakes used octopath engines while the rest is just endless experiments taking to many liberties destroying the original for something cool. Enix side of the company has been the only half making real games with Square micro transaction happy to gotcha game insanity to Final Fantasy 16 using summons to make a devil may cry final fantasy game. But this is an amazing remaster that is a JRPG and it doesn’t use the octopath engine. It’s just a breath of fresh air Square did what they did with trials of mana make the same game with the epic adventure you had trouble on a older console and upgrade to the original vision and build on it not gimmicks. I am so happy to see that Square can still make true updates without butchering it. It won’t impress with giant landscapes and huge environments it will impress you by how much it keeps the original spirit alive. Pure nostalgia magic I hope number 3 gets the same amount of love this one received. You like JRPGS from the 90’s but not the problems of the original here it is. In a year of remasters I have been blessed with 3 titles all Square of Square enix and 1 from the Enix side. Excellent example of respecting the original game and build a version that feels like what was originally being attempted. Highly recommended Read more

This game is so good. Initially the intro is confusing because you pick a character and get thrown into someone else, but the generational change system is amaze. Lots of replayability! Read more

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when purchasing this game. New to the Saga series, I will admit I was a little intimidated. But this game is a pure joy. The mechanics of the system are a delight to uncover over generations of characters. It can be real satisfying to know you are slowly building toward a goal. A goal that may not be achieved for a millennia of in-game time. Read more
