So I'm a doubtful Debby when I order electronics from here. But... This one turned out to be a great buy!! We needed a lamp for behind out tv. Our TV is mounted in the corner of the room. It fit perfectly. I didn't think we'd use the color changing effect much. But we end up putting it on certain colors for types of movies we watch. So it's a fun little extra for movie night with the kids. Like for the movie Frozen or Moana will put on blue. Or a scary movie will put on red. It's been 2 months about and the remote still works. Simple. The video u can link to is super easy . The shades are way easier than it seems . Need an app for anything but bright white on and off but with the app the lights are great. Have mine on Christmas setting now , there's endless choices. Stock value colors , base colors . Full custom . Timers. All control , individual control . Pretty cool. Putting this lamp together reminded me a little of assembling furniture from that famous Swedish store. It does take a little time, but the ease of assembly is actually quite good once you get started. Once finished, it looks fantastic. The lamp has excellent brightness when you want strong lighting and can also dim nicely for a softer atmosphere. The lighting options are where it really shines. You can choose from a variety of colors depending on the mood or occasion. The remote control makes switching settings incredibly convenient. Despite product details stating it works with Google Home, this does not as verified via first hand use and the app also stating this. This is a big detractor for me as I have a very automated home where google assistants are placed throughout for automation- they cannot interact with this bulb. This is essentially a floor lamp with a removable multifunction bulb installed. The "smart" bulb works via bluetooth (no wifi option) so you must be within distance of your phone to control the light unless using the timer function or the floor switch to turn it off and on. The voice commands are very specific commands if using that feature but if using the app, it is easy to change colors, scenes, brightness, and hue of regular lamp from soft to daylight. The bulb offers a lot of color combinations and adjustable brightness, and on the highest setting produces good brightness. No complaints when using app, its intuative and easy to use. There is a rhythm mode but I did not elect to use this as the app requested permission to record audio; I am not to keen on recording audio- maybe the developer meant accessing the microphone. The recording audio permission also applied to voice commands so I did not use that feature but the app lists the exact commands you must use- no renaming the light to something custom. The actual lamp frame itself is of nice quality. It is easy to assemble, solid, heavy base, and a decent floor step switch if you choose to use that. The lamp shade comes rolled up in the opposite direction that you apply it to the frame but it did not create any issues and once clipped together, appears to be holding strong enough. Read more

Where do I begin because there’s quite a lot of good to this. Firstly the bulb is what’s the “smart” part of it and yes, it does work with Alexa devices. So rather than a WiFi controlled bulb it’s actually Bluetooth only and that helps a lot because it’s less strain on your WiFi (important for lower speed WiFi users). Start with its app to set it up then go to your Alexa app to connect it via Bluetooth. You’d never know it’s a smart lamp. I love the lamp’s switch is a floor pedal style too. So if you don’t want to use it as a smart lamp you can. The lampshade part was especially amazing because you can flatten it out to clean. It clips on two rings and Velcro closes. It comes compact in a small but heavy box so this is really move to new home friendly. Firstly; with the Alexa app you’ll have less control over the colours you can set it to. The app has more. You can’t put this device on another app as you could with a WiFi enabled device and a gateway. I tried and it didn’t work. That’s fine because I just use the Alexa app as it’s enabled for that. Lastly; give it a name! Pick something easy to pronounce and your Alexa can turn it on or off or different colours and brightness. No need to enable a skill either.
