This is a good lightweight instant thermometer. It is not heavy duty and would probably come apart if dropped on a hard surface. But it is a great thermometer and I would buy again. It is easy to use, great value for the money. People think that I paid more for it than I did and when I tell them how much they can't believe it. It works lightening fast and I am very happy with it. Read more

The forehead thermometer is very easy to use and the screen is easy to read. It gives the temperature quickly and is accurate as measured against an oral thermometer. Read more

My old forehead thermometer died after 6.5 years, so I set out to buy a new one. Reviews about accuracy and consistency were all over the place, even for highly rated ones, so I got a few: Braun digital thermometer, Boncare 10 second digital thermometer, iProven Pro Series Forehead Thermometer, and this one. I tested them on my daughter and me while we're healthy to test it out. My temperature normally runs on the low side, around 97.3 to 97.8. The Boncare one was absolute trash with temperature readings ranging from 95.1 to 98.8. iProven turned out to be a disappointment. Forehead readings were a little high (98.?, which is high for me) and still fluctuated by a whole degree, and ear readings were inconsistent although possibly more accurate (in the 97s). It had only one button to turn on, calibrate, show old reading, and take new temperature. I was never sure when I was supposed to point the thermometer at the forehead. The Braun thermometer was the most accurate for me with readings between 97.3 and 97.4. The Femometer thermometer surprised me. The build quality is a lot flimsier with a very lightweight plastic that feels like it could break easily. The battery port was a little finicky compared to the iProven one. But it kept giving me consistent readings (98.0 for me, 98.3 for my daughter) that are closer to my actual temperature. I also like that it has separate buttons for different functions: one on/off button (I think it calibrates when you turn it on), one to choose forehead temp or household object, and one to actually take the temperature. It's very clear when it's reading your temperature vs is it turning on? Calibrating? When are you supposed to put it up against your forehead? Since I got the Femometer one on sale, I decided to keep this and the Braun thermometer. While Braun gave more accurate readings and feels sturdier, I like the idea of not having to clean the thermometer every time like you do for an oral thermometer. I'll use this one for the initial reading and the Braun for verification if necessary. Overall 4 stars. I'm deducting one star because the non sale price is a little high, and I'm not sure how long it will last given the cheaper build quality. I'm pleased with its consistency and relative accuracy and the more intuitive buttons. I do recommend this product and hope it lasts. Read more
