The microwave over the stove is absolutely wonderful. I love it. Read more
Vent fans are noisy. Light levels inside and outside are very good. Easy to use. Read more
The last microwave I had (actually a GE Advantium), I eventually broke the handle because it required so much effort to open the door. Worse than that, the door couldn't be replaced, so I passed a at least two years prying open the door each time I wanted to use the microwave. Needless to say, this microwave feels lighter, but it seems to work well. I use it to defrost frozen meats as well as to reheat things and I'm satisfied with it. I had to choose this model because it fit into the available space. My contractor installed it with a helper and seemed to have no trouble. I'm giving it a 5 because it's functioning as I had hoped. The microwave is the updated version of the one we used to have and this one much better, the only downside is that we have a magnetic food cover for splatter and the new microwave is not flat on the interior top so can't stick it on the top. but aside of that it heats faster and it's nicer and updated with LED lights Read more

I received this microwave and due to business travel it was 35 days later I installed it. I didn't work. I contacted the seller and hs response was Its past 30 days, you can contact Frigidaire for warranty service. One comment on that. I worked Customer Support military contractors for over 34 years. I would NEVER tell the customer "its over 30 days, sorry, call the manufacturer". My company's reputation is on the line. If I sold something that wasn't working from day 1, i would REPLACE it even if 5 days outside of a return period. Needless to say, I will not do business with this seller again. As for Frigidaire, NEVER again. I was replacing my 3 year old over the range microwave with the same one sin it made for much easier replacement. Just unplug, take out 3 bolts and slide off the bracket already attacjed to the wall. So I buy a new one that doesn't even work. Frigidaire set out a repair man who diagnosed it was either the control board or something in the door latch assembly. He ordered both. Within a week he contacted me and told me it would be a minimum of 6 MONTHS before the parts were available. He contacted Frigidaire and they agreed to repeal the microwave. They replaced it within 2 weeks with one that works. To top it off, while waiting for the new microwave, my less than 3 1/2 year Frigidaire Range stopped working. I went to Home Depot and bought a Samsung range to replace it! Just say NO to Frigidaire. Read more
This review is only about the microwave installation/quality control. I purchased this to replace an over the range microwave which failed. It arrived on time. I had to sign the FedEx pad to receive it. I helped the driver get it off the truck, onto a dolly, then into my empty garage. The exterior of the box was not showing any damage of any kind. I opened up the box, and lifted the box off of the microwave according to the directions. I have a horizontal exhaust from my current microwave that exits through the brick of my home to the exterior vent. After reading the directions, I had to remove some metal panel because it comes from the factory set up to circulate air back into your kitchen and not exhaust it. Once the metal panel is removed, you must remove multiple screws to free the squirrel cage motor and rotate it so it will now exhaust horizontally out the rear of the microwave for my installation. I noted one motor screw was missing & one panel screw was missing. The instructions comment on how all screws should be installed and tightened to prevent vibration noise. One motor bracket was also broken off and inside the micro after I lifted it out per instructions. Fortunately, because I was rotating the motor, I used 2 motor mounts that were not used with original motor orientation and were not broken. I had to buy a second screw to mount the motor properly since 1 was missing from factory build. I've installed quite a few microwaves in my construction career. Most have templates with markings in which you fold on the dotted lines according to your cabinet construction. For example, cheaper 3/8" cabinets or better 3/4" cabinets. This is important for lining up for drilling mounting holes. For this, I had to draw markings on the template, and fold on my lines to use on my cabinets. I had to do some wall and duct work alterations because Frigidaire and GE have different duct work exiting heights I had to deal with. Also, my power cord hole was in the right rear before. Frigidaire for some unknown reason to me has the power cord exiting the top CENTER of the unit. I do not want a power cord in the middle of my storage cabinet, so I taped it to the top of the microwave and ran it through the original hole in the right bottom rear of my overhead cabinet. I have recessed bottom cabinets, so there was plenty of room to run/hide the wire safely without pinching it in anyway. After mounting the microwave, I saw some damage on the bottom left side of the black steel. It looked like it was dropped a bit and bent the black sheet metal and the silver wall bracket. Nothing major, but I noted it after the install. Also, this microwave is definitely designed to be mounted BETWEEN two cabinets, and hung from an overhead cabinet. The reason I'm saying this is because my install has the left side end exposed next to a window. My old Hotpoint had crinkly metal to hide fingerprints. Frigidaire has smooth black sheet metal sides with multiple indented pressings of odd shapes exposed. If I saw this before purchase, I would have chosen another model/brand. I have attached 3 pics. 1st is the bottom left damage. 2nd is the full view of the imprints into the metal side vs a smooth black metal side. 3rd is broken motor mount. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the damage, missing screws, broken motor mount and templates that are more time consuming to work with than some others I've worked with. FYI, I did heat 2 cups of water and it boiled like my Hotpoint at 3:30 minutes. The fan moves more air out of my brick house exhaust damper than the Hotpoint and is noticeably quieter than the Hotpoint. Read more
