I was skeptical at first, but I was pleasantly surprised when I tried frozen strawberries and it made a perfect, healthy sorbet for my little kid. I love that it doesn’t take up much space. It’s lightweight and easy to use. Cleaning isn’t as effortless as I expected, but it’s still much easier than cleaning a regular juicer. I often use frozen smoothie blend bags and it always works great. My kid and I are big fans of this little machine. However, it doesn’t work very effectively as a juicer. It handles citrus fruits like oranges well, but struggles with harder vegetables like carrots. It seems to need more power to crush them. It took a long time and I started to smell something burning, so I had to stop. I’ve accepted that I’ll use it mainly as a sorbet maker. Even so, I still really like it. Read more

I was once called "the Queen of Appliances" and have lived up to that name ever since. My pantry shelves are littered with kitchen gadgets and devices I never use. This soft serve machine is not one of them. It's been a happy surprise. Getting it assembled and running is easy, it's lightweight and you can move it around to where you need it, it produces great tasting sorbets while allowing you to skip the cream and sugar, it functions without a hitch, and it's easy to clean. So, basically, five stars on all of the high points. It works quickly, albeit loudly. I am looking forward to branching out and experimenting, maybe into pumpkin sorbet for the dog using left over pumpkin pie. Mostly, though, if you've got some big bags of frozen fruit like the kind you can get at Costco, it's super easy to produce delicious sorbet or an excellent base for healthy smoothies. My wife bought this sorbet maker, and I was ready to file it under "kitchen gimmicks we'll use once." We've got two daughters, 11 and 13, and they're always wanting ice cream or some other sweet snack. I'm giving this machine a full five stars because it does exactly what it says it will do, and it's not a pain to deal with. What I like is its simplicity. You take frozen fruit, like bananas or strawberries, let them thaw for about 10 minutes (this is important), and push them through the machine. What comes out looks and feels just like soft-serve. I was genuinely surprised by the texture. The girls love it, and my wife is happy because it's just fruit. No dairy, no sugar. My biggest plus is the cleanup. It's a few parts that come apart, rinse clean under the tap, and you're done. No tiny crevices to scrub. Our little maltipoo even gets a small spoonful of the plain banana, and she goes crazy for it. On the dislike side, this thing is loud. When it's grinding a frozen banana, you know it's working. It also feels a bit on the light side, all plastic, so I do wonder about its long-term durability if we use it every day. As for the value, I'd say it's pretty good. It's not a lot of money, and it's already saved us from buying several tubs of expensive ice cream. It makes a healthy dessert that the kids are actually excited to eat. The media could not be loaded. To say this item was disappointing is a huge understatement. Not only does this not work as advertised, but the directions are below poor and the machine itself exploded machine parts onto me, the counter, my walls and the kitchen floor for zero apparent reason (see video). The motor in this isn’t powerful enough to handle the job and it seems the parts are poorly constructed if they can’t stay together and instead explode onto people. Juice leaks from the bottom and because the design in this is so awkward, often juice falls onto the counter because the spot created to place the included cup doesn’t actually align with the hole the liquid or supposed sorbet come out of. The box has randomly printed sentences stating one can make gelato by adding a bit of milk and crushed ice to the frozen fruit, but nowhere in the actual instruction booklet, or on their page, does it give any directions on amounts or mention anything about being able to make gelato.. Other than the machine exploding onto me, I don’t know if it may be because the parts aren’t well made or because they aren’t assembled correctly. The instructions show a poorly printed picture of the machine parts but there are zero directions on how to assemble or disassemble the washable parts and I just sort of had to do it myself. However, the main part of the machine (the one that churns the fruit) was assembled upon arrival so I washed and installed it as one piece and it still exploded. The little direction included is super confusing. It says to freeze a specific part of the machine for two hours before making the ice cream but there are zero parts in the machine listed with that name. It says to make juice in slow but ice cream on the fast setting, which makes zero sense, so the “ice cream” juice you see in the included video was made in the fast setting. There is, however, no discernible difference (personally) between the fast and slow settings. In addition, the machine stops and beeps randomly, I assume because it gets stuck, but there is zero information on why that happens in the included directions. It does seem to reverse automatically when stuck, so that is a positive, I guess. Overall, shockingly disappointed, especially considering the fact that this machine is almost $140. I would caution people not to allow their children to use this machine because if it explodes on them as it did on me it’ll likely hit them in the face rather than the chest. If I could give this a zero instead of 1 I would. There were so many wrong things with this I’m sure I’ve forgotten some of the ordeal as some sort of trauma response. Don’t waste your money.
